Anonymous, 13 Jul 2019who wants this overpriced garbage phone ?? too many important cons lol... No ultra-wi... moreagree with you, I remember got attacked by OP 7 pro fanboy who justified too much about 90 Hz refresh rate, while lacking a lot of useful feature that OP7 Pro doesn't have.
Zenfone6 and P30 bet, 13 Jul 2019To be honest I don't see how one could recommend this phone over Zenfone 6 or even a cheaper P... moreFor me, the P30 is still much more expensive than the OP7. And the ZenFone for me is a bit too big for comfort. Same size screen as the OP7 but it's taller, wider, thicker and heavier. Now it does have better cameras and a headphone jack, but I would rather take a easier to hold phone. Plus amoled screen is a bigger priority (for me) than a headphone jack.
To be honest I don't see how one could recommend this phone over Zenfone 6 or even a cheaper P30 unless they you really really love OxygenOS
No wireless charging is for me personally the biggest con, otherwise I would have bought it :(
I need Angie to do a video review of this since she knows a lot about OnePlus phones
AnonD-429807, 13 Jul 2019Software issues are easily rectified through update. Hardware? Completely different story. Bingo. That's always my arguement. You could have the greatest software ever but if the hardware is lacking too much, what's the point?
Software is important (XDA currently hates the Red Magic 3's Global ROM at the moment but here's hoping they release the kernel for some good software modding) but hardware (in this day in age) can never be replaced.

Jach, 13 Jul 2019replaced my Mi 9 with this beastThe Mi9 is as compromised as this thing. So I don't see the improvements. The question begs why would you want to do this? Replace a fast but lacking phone with another fast but lacking phone?

No ultra-wi... moreI couldn't care less about the missing camera's. You only need one good one the others are rarely used. Anyway the additional camera's are the main selling point between the pro or regular so there's no need to complain about it on this model.
The real deal-breakers are the missing headphone jack and the lack of micro-SD-storage.
MY perfect SD855-phone should have:
- headphone jack (gold plated of course)
- micro-SD storage
- notification LED (why not put it in the top frame instead o/t bezel)?
- IR-blaster (cost next to nothing and is a useful utility)
- call-recording (very important due to restrictive driving laws these days)
- decent ingress protection, not necessarily military grade but at least rain-protection.
And obviously it's main camera should have OIS and the speaker should be loud.
I could care about LCD or AMOLed screens. I've had both and these days they're both fine. I couldn't care about 1440P, 4K or FHD, FHD is enough! Couldn't care about stereo speakers as long as they're loud. Couldn't care about in-screen, front-, back-mounted fingerprint scanner, as long as it works quick and without hassle.
It's ridiculous to see that the points that I care the least about are the ones pushed the most by handsetmakers.
I guess I'll just stick to my old Honor 8 for (yet) another year :-(
No jack, no sd slot, no IP rating, no UWA, no zoom, no GG6 for rear panel, no 4KHDR10 recording, lower quality video recording, no AF front cam, no wifi 6.
Still got 4,2? Ridiculous

who wants this overpriced garbage phone ?? too many important cons lol...
No ultra-wide angle or telephoto cameras
No 3.5mm audio jack
No microSD card slot
No official ingress protection rating
The low loudspeaker volume is a surprising downside to this phone, compared to the Pro.
how it boosts the brightness under direct sunlight? and for how much time it hold the boost??
If this had a wide angle lens also it would have been a perfect device for me
AnonD-429807, 13 Jul 2019Software issues are easily rectified through update. Hardware? Completely different story. Good point.
Not to mention, getting Software Updates, for reasons unknown, now demands a premium price. This wouldn't have been a problem if the device wasn't lacking in features.
So you could argue about getting say a Lenovo Z6 Pro this year for 400 Euros. Then next year selling it for 200 Euros, then getting a Lenovo Z7 Pro for 400 Euros. Totalling 600 Euros. Instead of getting the OnePlus 7 this year for an equal 600 Euros, and waiting for Software Updates. It's likely the next year the Lenovo is going to have the better hardware.
Now the above is simply a hypothetical, you could insert whatever device you want in those fields depending on your needs and budget.
Heck, it seems smarter to get a 1.4 year old Flagship Phone, and update the phone every 1.4 years to another phone that's 1.4 years old. Keeps you in the Goldilocks Zone of having the best screen, camera, performance, and software... at the lowest price, and acceptable resale possiblity.

Kangal, 12 Jul 2019Cons: No 3.5mm audio jack No microSD card expansion No ingress protection certification No... moreThe problem with all of those phones except the Zenfone 6 is the software. None of those phones come close to OxygenOS at all. ZTE isn't exactly known for updating their phones either. Specs are one thing, software is arguably way more important
