As well just to test fan i did extreme stress tests with fan off and on believe me you will be cooler at least few degrees of heat that means a lot for chipset and battery.

Honor Play should've been included in this test, last year Poco f1 & Play were selected as best budget gaming + all-rounder phones by gsmarena.

I would have been interested in seeing the OnePlus 7 PRO as well as the Asus ZenFone 6 in the comparison, I remember these two having very little to no throttling from their respective tests (don't know if it was @ GSMarena or computerbase.de).
Also as someone before me mentioned the usecase of simultaneous gameplay and charging should be tested as well.

Nubia Red Magic 3 seems to me an overall winner here. After all that test, its not as hot as Black Shark 2.

Hi GSMArena, you should consider having the CPU Throttling Test as part your standard review process. It gives people a better view of which phone can sustain performance for longer periods of time.

The way i see how P30 Kirin 980 works is they analyzed certain games & pick the max playable fps which has the most stabilized frame rate, lock it so u can play games smoothly all the way till the end. This way u got smooth gameplay, using less power, hence save more battery life. Exactly what Gpu Turbo does.
This Cpu Throttling Test must be torture the chip hard, therefore Kirin 980 lock it at lower level. I believe when gaming, it lock onto more higher fps.

Most hardcore gamers play tethered to a (for example) power bank. Charging + gaming would heat up the phone more as compared to just gaming. The most concerning aspect of this type of habit is that, on a passively-cooled systems, the heatpipe were basically routed underneath or near the battery making the battery a part of the "cooling" itself, in which, any battery would hate.

The p30 gpu Is similar has 2 led cores but does much worse less cores less power less heat but

There's quite a few bugs, little optimisation, and to make matters worse there's no way to get root access (where with admin privilege you can make fixes, or even apply Custom ROMs/Kernels).
This was one of the reasons I ended up forgoing the Nubia RedMagic 3 as my daily driver.

I'm not surprised the Red Magic 3's fan doesn't help much, in a teardown video we could see that the fan's room isn't connected directly to the SoC, so it can't grab all much heat with all the layers that separate it to the SoC.

They at least show that performance, endurance and design can be better in most cases with also better price.
Non-boring design, unlike other with just color change, alone can help the sales. Not everyone likes cases.

Another thing ROG Phone with its fan accessory and X mode (or whatever its called) would be interesting and I am pretty sure it would sustain far longer than any of these

I am surprised that phones lose so much performance after an hour, I play PUBG and emulator games on my G2 and it does get warm with slight drop in PUBG and almost no drop in PSP emulator so how come modern phones fall so much? Maybe its because their SoC is far more powerful? Or is there something I don't understand? And Gsmarena should have also tested Performance mode on P30 and that huge drop is likely because of GPU Turbo
