Though one main reason for Quad Bayer sensors is better digital zoom (again this depends on the manufacturer, some manufacturers might not use the 40 megapixels for digital zoom due to more demosaicing artifacts and more noise in the shadows).

It seems that the ultra wide angle camera just upscales, that's strange. Though the main camera doesn't upscale. How good the 40 megapixel modes are depend on the manufacturer's algorithms. I guess the results would be much better with a super resolution algorithm.
Maybe the purpose of a Quad Bayer sensor is really the different HDR method. But that's just speculation as Apple, Google and Samsung don't use Quad Bayer sensors and still show a very good dynamic range. I think it's not known whether Quad Bayer HDR is a better method.

[deleted post]Thats buggy. Looks like shite lol. I've seen others where Mate 30 Pro video recording nails it both in quality & stabilization (can even record 60fps on all 3 lenses).
My assumption is he doesnt get the same firmware update yet as others did.

The biggest problem for me is the lack of play store. No matter how many apps huawei has, play store had millions of choices. I don't care for chrome or google drive.

Though the type c - 3.5mm jack is missing, using the passive DAC available in market or with previous Huawei/ Honor devices, the review should've included audio testing counterpart, as the test at least reveals the audio reproducing capabilities of the handset
