Anonymous, 31 Jan 2020Same problem. Im using IRIGYes, I have the same issue with the external mic. I have found a workaround, use an audio splitter. Connect the mic AND connect a headphone to the other outlet. With only the mic connected, the issue remains.

Pls, I'd like to find out, is the MI calling app available on this device? Ie the Redmi Note 8 pro? Or, does the phone support call recording by default?

First time with redmi phone here. The phone's gaming performance is good. However, i cannot recommend this phone to anyone and will certainly think twice before ever getting another again. Reception is poor. Even outdoors without any buildings obstructing. It often takes a few minutes for LTE to kick in. I was willing to give it a shot despite knowing some bands i use here in Ottawa Canada were unavailable. However, there was a miui update 11.0.6 global. Both cell standby and android system are sucking the battery dry between 30 and 40% individually. I have tried resetting my device. afterwards, i kept very few apps. This did not help at all. I went without charging for 4 days to charging once a day (while my phone is on my work desk for most of the day.) The camera is actually not all that good. It performs well in daylight and optimal conditions. Low light and night time? Noisy mess. At this point i am considering turning it off and returning to my old zenfone 3 until they drop android 10. But who knows when that'll be and if it will resolve the host of issues. Oh and the DRM crap with all streaming platforms. (Look it up. Instead of streaming content in HD - it only streams in 540p)

Ive been a Samsung S8 user (loved it, battery sucked big time though). Oneplus 5T and Mate 10 Pro have also been my recent phones from the flagship category... I recently switched to this phone Note 8 Pro and I must say, in this price range, it is an ABSOLUTE BEAST. It can easily be compared with Samsung S9 series in all aspects except the screen tech.
