Rocking latest Android 10 update OA straight from LG on my LG G8X Dual Screen. Did buy a single screen case to use out of the Dual Case because the Dual case turns on to easy which makes the battery go down faster. I think the dual case is fun to use when playing games and doing research. Otherwise I will use the single case I bought on Amazon. They are only 3 types of single screen cases for the LG G8X on Amazon. All it took was a few paid reviewers to tash this awesome phone. As far as pictures are concerned, I don't use the auto setting. I tend to use the manual camera settings and they bring me sharp images. I've downloaded Nikita GCam based on B-S-G & GCam version Google Camera 220.127.116.114953318 to use for automatic picture taking which works. Even with using my G8X all day and half the night and 30 % of the time using the dual screen, I ten to have between 55% to 62% battery left for the next day. Mind you I did go into each non Google and necessary LG app to make locations only work while in app, restricted background battery use and restricted background data use.
Had my LG G8X (Single Screen) for 2 weeks now. Got it for $400 CAD from my carrier, Virgin Canada.
It's a really slick phone for the price. The 6 GB of RAM makes it arguably the best value buy at least among phones available from Virgin.
Performances is really smooth, though I don't play any graphics heavy games.
Screen seems pretty good and vibrant, but considering my old phone was an ancient Galaxy S5, it's hard for me to compare it to the competition.
Battery life is excellent.
Cons: Phone seems to struggle with Google Maps and heats up quite a bit when using it.
Does not come with a case (unless you get the Dual Screen version), and the phone is EXTREMELY slippery to hold without one. Get a case as soon as you can, even before opening the box.
No app tray which I find annoying but that is a personal preference.
Cameras are decent but not great. Not a dealbreaker for me, but would have been nice to get a macro cam.
The G8X looks like a dcecent phone except for the camera. The review says the G8X takes good pictures but if you look at this comparison, it's blurry:
Also, has the selfie camera issue been fixed?
I am considering this phone, and the dual screen is a nice feature that I don't need, and will only appreciate if the rest of the phone, such as the camera, is good.
The charger connection to the case falling off very easy. The little thing keep falling off.
There is no earpiece with the phone. Wth?
scottm-dj, 04 Nov 2019How bout some real questions instead of the Samsung trollers...
Contemplating this phone bu... moreAgree. The main reason of having a LG is the QuadDAC and headphone jack. That said I believe LG and its new management is giving less & less importance to sound quality.
You previously reported V40 was the last phone with native DSD support. Also V40 was already half dB down on volume through out the volume range over V30, it saddens me to see the volume is even lower for G8X.
Batty Roshko YT, 10 May 2020God bless everyone who looked for this phone after they saw Eminem's GodzillaIt's LG V60 on Eminem' Godzila, not G8x
But still goodluck searching any of them ;)

This phone LG G8X Thinq is released in Japan for JPY 55,440 Yen Carrier lock to Softbank. That is roughly USD505 which is really good price considering it is bundled with the dual screen case. I bought mine used in Grade A condition, but already sim unlocked.
got mine with case included, first LG phone i own, coming from huawei and my last phone was a one plus 5,
love the phone so far, need to learn every single posible option available (im that obsessed with a new gadget), also wondering if its possible to root
miss my op5 rooted
hey, I have a new G8 duel screen unit. So a week ago when I was on holiday it randomly overheated to an extreme. It was hot enough I had issues picking it up and turning it off. So the second screen seems to be the part that over heated and is dead now. The main part of the phone is fine. Has anyone else experienced that? Im about to deal with LG for warranty for the first time so wish me luck!
