How is a 6.55 in screen phone compact? I’m using a 4.7 in screen phone as my main
these are not compact phones at all
Motorola is nowhere near compact what on.earth are you talking about ?! it's either super fat or super tall and at all times it's way way wide at 74mm to be considered anywhere near compact . The only foldable that can be considered even remotely compact and that's at a stretch (literally ) is the Flip 6.
What is the phone which is shown in post header with compact but boxy looks?
its very simple.... we need a size not bigger than iphone 6

Why does every single phone have to be so ridiculously big? We've really regressed as a society.
Anything bigger than 5.5" is not compact or mini. Flip phone can be called as compact because it can be compact
Since when is a phone with a 6.55 inch screen compact 💀 (Xiaomi 14 Civi). That’s iPhone 11 Pro Max size.
One would expect an article on compact phones to include their physical dimensions. This article was not very helpful.
Would be nice if the dimensions were mentioned in this article.
And most of these aren't compact. Like 15-17cm length or 74mm width.
Anonymous, 18 Aug 2022Can anyone recommend a compact smartphone, doesn't have to be this year's or even la... moreThose are the dimensions of an S25. Probably an iphone too. Just see which OS and price suits you more.
Problemass, 26 Feb 2025Vivo X200 Pro MiniThere's nothing mini about this phone. Stop falling for a marketting gimmick

But when the screen gets bigger, things changes radically, because of the physics. I broke the screen of S10e (larger than previous phones) about one year from purchase. For me it seems that manufacturers are not producing smaller phones because it is not good for the business.

It's looking pretty grim. No zenfone last year and it doesn't look like a new one will be announced. And even if it were, ASUS is too far in bad decisions to be trusted again.
Samsung released the same phone as last year, stagnating heavily (S25).
Google has one with subpar hardware.
The only one I am even considering is Xiaomi 15 releasing soon. Yet, that one has problems in terms of software.
Why does it have to be so bad :/ Why are we not progressing?
Anonymous, 22 Oct 2024Seriously now? They gave the title of the best COMPACT phone to a device that is 171.4mm tall?... moreThird time in a row now! Wow, this is getting ridiculous... Best compact phone: 1st place goes to a phone that is taller than the *6.9inch* iPhone 16 Pro Max!! For crying out loud.
At least the 2nd place winner is probably the only company that actually tried to make this year's small version even smaller (ever so slightly). Even the iPhone 16 lineup got bigger across the board.

The "flip" phone concept would still be cool though in my personal opinion, but in sub-6 inch form factor! Screw these phablets, I think I will buy S10e, because I need a cheap, compact phone for part-time work I will be starting soon (I'm a student).
