jtrogr, 02 Dec 2019Why is everyone so hyped for the 90Hz? Its something you stop caring about like 2 weeks after ... moreCan just get a great 90Hz display phone with $100-200 less.

Asus ROG Phone 2 costs about the same and yet has 120Hz display.

Depends on your preference actually but I won't recommend the Pixel.

Failure rates mean even small drops in performance? S7 and S8 having the highest failure rates? Of course it's because there are a lot of people using those phones. Build quality (and/or even repairability) has improved in most brands. S7 is actually quite a tough phone. And remember, phones that are older will certainly perform less well (battery, speed, etc.), even the iPhone does.

So please, give me a better article as citation so I can at least correct myself.

And you think Xiaomi sales are higher than oppo? sorry, they are on the same level or maybe oppo sells more than xiaomi globally.. even vivo able to win xiaomi sales

Ok, since u want the numbers of percentage here
"Besides, you already know more people are using it all over the world, second to Samsung or Apple."
Oppo still higher a bit in sales, or at least at the same level at tight close

Purple shadows are most likely thanks to boosted shadow details - Pixel always crushed them into pure black and Google got some criticism for it, so they stopped doing that in Pixel 4, and now it's showing tons of noises in shadow area.

Anonymous, 01 Dec 2019Things that these "tech experts" never mention in their reviews: - On Iphone11pro wide angl... more-Wide angle lens shots on a smartphone is generally expected to be used for the situation where the distortion or softness won't be an issue for majority of people (e.g. Blogs, SNS). While Apple could've done better job for its low light performance, when there is ample light its shots are good enough for 95% of its users. If you want a relatively distortion free UWA lens, there's one company that offers that, but of course you will have to sacrifice wider FoV. But most importantly, having an option to shoot in UWA is better than NOT having one AT ALL.

-iPhone does provide you an option to turn off the night mode when it gets activated, and it makes no sense for Apple to provide you an option to turn it on manually, since in medium lighting conditions Deep Fusion takes over Smart HDR and does all the additional processing that enhances the details. In those situations night mode wouldn't make much of a difference or could even degrade the image quality due to longer SS blurring moving objects, and if Google isn't automatically activating Night Sight when it's needed, then it's not fair to trigger it manually and compare it to iPhone's auto night mode, which is also ZSL unlike Google's counterpart.

-While it is true that iPhones' replacement costs are indeed expensive as hell, when you're using the actual device, iPhone provides you better UX as a whole than Pixel. Pixel 4 is on the same level as the regular iPhone 11 all things considered, period.

-You're talking as if Pixels don't degrade quickly over time. Remember Pixel 2 and the lag issues that a lot of people were talking about back then? But of course you want to talk nonsensical rubbish about Chinese phones that you've never used because you want to defend Google... and RAM management has ALWAYS been the weakest point of Pixels' software. Seriously, have you been living under a rock?

-This phone has worse battery life compared to literally every single midranger/high end phones from major companies released this year, probably with a few exception (though I can't come up with any), not just when you're comparing it to Note.

-OnePlus 7T was also tested in forced 90Hz mode and still managed to score reasonable 90 hours of battery life under exactly the same test condition. Tough.

-2 years of guaranteed OS updates and next 2 years will be limited to monthly security updates, which falls far short of Apple's minimum 4 years of OS updates.

I'd like to ask, if you know all of your points are invalid and you need to employ sophistry that other people can easily debunk to defend your favourite brand, why bother defending it in the first place?

LOL 4 years, Android 10 on og Pixel already runs like c##p, it's more like 4 years after updating that phone
Also 90 hz is marquee feature of the phone, not using it all the time means basically ignoring the main selling point for the device
No phone has 2800 mAh battery, closest is s10e, which still has 30 percentage higher battery rating than this phone

Anonymous, 01 Dec 2019Things that these "tech experts" never mention in their reviews: - On Iphone11pro wide angl... moreFunny how you mention P4 to be in the same as iphone11pro when the price different is close to 50%. Even the XL is far cheaper than tha basic 11pro.
Laggy device is pretty much over for current few generation of phones. Had a Note 4x running SD625 and 3GB RAMfor over 2 years, definitely not as fast as new phones, but still working perfectly good for daily driver. Not to mention SD625 ain't meant for performance. Latest update to MIUI11, but still in Android 7, but that doesn't stop anyone from continue using the phone. You don't need to have the latest firmware to be usable.

SOT is very poor gauge to measure battery life only if you compare SOT when gaming to SOT when browsing. Most reviewer have a set of test so that comparison can be done. GSM for example take browsing, video, talktime and standby as a measurement. That is like I want the fastest V12 engine, but the the fuel economic of a 1.6L engine.

Yes, putting 90hz may not make it fair for battery life, but so is it an added advantage over other phones. So are we just counting the positive and ignoring all the negative of having higher refresh?

To me P4 is a perfectly capable phone except for missing ultrawide and low battery. But when you put it in its current price point, it seems way overpriced to competitors.

Its a costly dead pixel, EOD. Just like an ended era of their Ara.

Google will eventually shutdown its dead pixel business before 2021 and they are good at shutting down projects.

Cheap China phones being laggy? What do you think, should Chinese phones use Sd855+ at $100? There are several great Chinese phones with minor hints of lag even after years of usage (look at Mi A2 or Redmi Note 5 Pro). Ignore Vivo as they tend to have lots of bloat. Even Samsungs does a bad job at RAM management.

Iphones tend to have more natural colors out of the camera and it has been this way since a long time. Yes I have compared it to other phones of its class myself.

Maybe still more to argue with you as I can't type in my comments while seeing yours. But please educate yourself. There are many non legit reviewers but there are legit ones too
