G8x has a smaller aperture, so if you shoot landscape a lot, it will appear sharper than V50 in the whole frame. Meanwhile, V50 will take good shots easier in low light. V60 should do better than both of them, but LG's image processing leaves a lot to desire in general.

The reviewer gave slightly more than 4 to this phone, when in fact deserves much more. It has and does everything and it costs much less than its competitors, providing a much better value.
kakaroto, 15 Aug 2020Also if you love music , is coming with a 32 Bit DAC, until arrive of LG V60 the best you can ... moreDefinitely no denying about that. LG's built-in DAC support made other Android phone sounds terrible. This is definitely the one and only Android smartphone that allows me to fully utilize my studio-grade headphones. Of course there are external DACs for phones out there, but I wouldn't rely on dongles that use cable when traveling around, especially with the fact that it can further increase the USB-C port wear.
Also if you love music , is coming with a 32 Bit DAC, until arrive of LG V60 the best you can find , with Tidal , is the best sound you can have for a phone ... I test several phones and alway choose this to travel

Anonymous, 23 Dec 2019Ok so one major omission. Is the 5g low band...mid or mm?????? Makes a big difference as I ... moreSo they showed three major bands on the 5g modem: n41(2.6Ghz-Sprint), n260(39Ghz- AT&T), and n261(28Ghz-Verizon), as well as n78(3.5Ghz), which is only used in Europe, China, and maybe India.
My main question is, has anyone with this phone in America been able to activate it on a 5g network? And I mean THIS phone. The Lm-v500n dual screen model. Not the POS Lm-v450, or the EM variant, which can't accept a dual screen attachment. I'll be happy with dual screen 4g, but if I can activate 5g, that's a game changer, and makes the v60 look really bad, other than some battery life and Wacom support.
Why on earth are selfie cameras still fixed focus. Two of them, yet no focus.
Anonymous, 16 Jan 2020Is the headphone output louder then the v40? Yes, it is.

Bought one recently on my overseas trip. The Hardware itself is good on papers, but suggest it is LOUSY and really SLUGGISH in comparison to what Samsung is offering.
YOU WILL BE VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH YOUR CHOICE AFTER USING FOR 3-4 DAYS.
REAL DUMB STUFF.
The one thing that makes these LG phones truly unique is their Quad DAC, and you guys don't even bother to test it, let alone MENTION it!?
This made me think that it didn't have quad DAC, because surely GSM arena wouldn't make the mistake of not even mentioning it if it was there? Apparently they could.
That's just fucking sloppy!
By the way, since this line of phones has the attention of a lot of audio enthusiasts it wouldn't hurt to at least mention the "boombox"-feature as well. Me for one would love to see what effect that feature has on the speaker sound.
Owned a few LGs over the years, stopped at V30. Unfortunately hardware doesn’t mean much if your software is years + behind. This phone looks cool hardware looks neat but if you are waiting months and months for OS update what’s the point?
a3des, 19 Dec 2019No more QUAD-DAC in this phone?Yes, quad DAC exists and hope to stay on future devices as well. But GSMArena guys are so lazy and neglecting that they missed it completely from the review. They didn't even mention about the audio performance with quad DAC switched on. Please update it.
