Nothing wrong with plastic. It won't break...and you put a case on it anyways...Glass backed phones are the stupidest idea in history. I don't know anyone who doesn't use a case, so who needs the glass? Glass is just a way to say, Oh, we're premium, we will charge you more for it now.
The M31 is very similar to the Samsung XCover Pro they just released...same processor and ram, but the Xcover Pro is Rugged type phone that has a REMOVEABLE battery under it's plastic back....a minutely smaller screen, but WATERPROOF....It's priced at $499, but probably worth every penny for the rugged and battery.

If you need more security, go for A series (but it has been removed for A10s and A20s too, be advised)
This also answers why M series is cheaper than its A series counterparts.
