There is no winner, because the other is better at one area, the another at another area. If you want better dynamic range go for the Iphone, if you want better zoom and low light, go for the S20 Ultra, if you want sharp yet steady video go for the Iphone. So overall, there is no camera phone which performs the best in every aspect. And the price is ridiculous of the S20 Ultra.

The individual photosites are 0.8µm big, just like in the vast majority of Quad Bayers on the market, and bundling them in 3-by-3 squares makes for 2.4µm resulting pixels - that's the same pixel size you'd get on a 20MP 1" sensor like the one in the Sony RX100 VII compact camera.

It was never meant to be flagship sensor.

Midranges wont get same processing given to flagships.
ISP of SD series 600 and 700 is not that advanced compared to 800 series.

Apple admitted to slowing down batteries and cpu with newer updates. It's the iPhone that requires replacement every 2 years while flagship Android batteries start degradation only after 5 years.

That's the problem with Samsung. What they do is to put useless features and gimmicks on their phones just for hype but will disappoint you on actual daily use. i love Android and Samsung is a very reputable company but for a device that expensive, it deserve more than 2 years of software updates. That's a shame. You can put as much RAM as you want, high refresh rate, best screen and best camera but if it is limited to 2 years of update then Thank You! I'll look for something else that's worth my money.

I reckon No.1 smartphone manufacturer in the world decided this year won't be their...$1.5k will get you their flagship that isn't better in basically anything compared with devices that can be bought for roughly half the price...Mate 30 Pro,1+7t Pro,Mi 10 Pro,P30 Pro...but they'll give you a "Space zoom 100x" lettering at the back..how lame and duft is that?
Or,you can have, for the same money,a foldable, crappy, plastic phone that's not working properly, not even after second attempt to sell it as a finished product...lol

I don't know, photos really look great, especially low light. From your initial statements I was expecting the worst and that the cameras will be a flop. Certainly there is room for improvement, but these are mostly software issues fixable with an update, again hardware is great and it shows up in low light. Selfie camera is best I've ever seen. I believe ultra deserves more than 4 star rating, unless you are taking into account the price tag. What does look like a flop though, is Sony IMX686 sensor which I had high hopes for. But knowing that Sony is putting all the resources into PS5, it probably was expected.

Man I hate Samsung so much. Those greedy money scamming cheaters. Again they lied with their shitty cameras. They are no better than Apple. I really hoped 2020 would be the year mobile cameras took a great leap forward.. I guess we have to wait until 2021.... damn!!! I was gonna buy a new phone this year and now I have to wait to 2021 because Huawei doesn't come with google apps and 11 pro max photos are even shittier than the samsung photos..grrrrrr

Future Leader, 29 Feb 2020You definitely don't know what you are saying! Samsung don't need to cheat on benchmark.. They... moreThe problem is that you're pretty ignorant. Samsung has no good reputation in the SoC sector. Why would they have? With underperforming, power hungry Mongoose cores that no one uses besides Samsung?? Actually Samsung still cheats or rather say "tunes" their Crapsynos for Geekbench. In spec tests ARM's A76 is faster than Samsung's M4 yet in Geekbench Shamesung is ahead. Also A76 has better power efficiency than Mongoose. It's gonna be the same with A77 vs Samsung M5. Why do you think Samsung laid off their Austin chip crew? Because they couldn't even beat ARM's stock cores both in terms of performance and efficiency so these Mongoose cores are obviously a dead end. They costed billions of dollars to develop but they failed miserably. Samsung wanted to be Apple so badly but their chip crew sucked compared to Apple's.
If you had "any knowledge of Chipsets" then you'd now that Arm's Mali G77 (Crapsynos 990) caught up to Adreno 650 in Snapdragon 865, so it's Qualcomm that's slacking in the graphics department.

tarek, 29 Feb 2020Very soon majority of the consumers will start using either Realme, Oppo, Xiaomi instead of ey... moreNot really. Chinese brands are no popular out of Southest Asia.
Samsung will still sell more flagships than other brands , no matter the price.

All brands are increase prices this year. Realme has a phone that costs 600 euros at base configuration of 8 + 128. Xiaomi mi 10 pro may pass 800 dollars out of China. OnePlus 8 Pro may too pass 800 dollars.
Chinese phones barely have price custs during the year. While in few months, Samsung devices will be cheaper.

Just SD865/5G combo is making phones get about $90 more expensive. Now there are the other components too, newer and more expensive.
