The issue with exynos is the standby time.
Local website here did the test and phone loses about 2-3% per hour.
This should be what phone loses during whole night (00:00-07:00h).
"On the flip side, though, the iPhone 11 Pro almost certainly outshines the S20 in the camera department"
Why so?? Claims without any substance, evidence or explanation.. lame review disappointed with GSMArena. The star rating is so different to say the Note 10 yet it practically improves in every regard compared to it..
Anders, 14 Mar 2020Reall disappointing battery life considering the size of battery. Bad optimisation it seemsIndeed, even worse than s10 3400 mAh with a old gen exynos...how could it be???
So dissapointed ,4000 mAh and still worse than the (already not so good) S10 3400 mAh battery,20% bigger battery to be wasted...
It's strange that the S6 with a 2550mAh battery scored similarly to the 4000mAh in this unit. Shows how far we've come in 5 years...
Don't buy this crap, s20 ultra- phone with best combination of cameras and simply doesn't work!!!! Video cannot focus- is that a joke?!?!?!
Return the phone before you can, apple already closed their stores, if samsung will do the same, phones recieved on March 3 will be yours forever!!!!!
This phone when compared to the S20 ultra looks rather impressive for a much reduced price. But what's baffling is the fact that a 2020 flagship is still way behind Apple's phones of 2019 in terms of CPU performance. That's the sort of differential quality that makes iPhone adherents not flutter an inch!
Again stupid amounts of HDR in post procesing. I can't even look to photo samples. They look horrible.
Thanks for the review, detailed as always.
For me, the MAIN camera is the only thing I care about, and judging those photos I'm not sold at all. I was expecting significant improvements comparing to 2 years old S9 (s10 is using the same main camera as S9). There are improvements in low light images but not as much as one would've hoped for. As for night mode, in some examples s10 really nailed it (quite by chance I guess). One other thing this comparison shows - S20 Ultra is just a gimmick when it comes to day/night photography, the only area it really excels is zooming, but we already established that.
Not disappointed, but not impressed either.
Well gsma, the 80Mbps is too low for 8K.
This would be what you could expect from 4K90, not 8K24.
The 4K24 from Sony is 55Mbps.
Also Samsung decreased the bitrate of 4K videos.
It used to be about 48Mbps.
Exynos processor again lags behind Qualcomm, not necessarily in raw power, but sorely lagging when it comes to optimizing and fine-tuning the processor.
I hope Samsung abandons Exynos or, better yet, starts using it in upper-midrange A-series instead. Since the processor is made by Samsung itself, it would cost them significantly lesser than Qualcomm processors. And since the raw performance is essentially equal, getting them on A-Series will make Samsung a more fierce competitior to the high-end Chinese phone brands like OnePlus, Realme, Oppo, Vivo etc.
Are you sure your battery result test is correct? In most of the video available online the s20 is as good or better than the Note10+
Welp, saw this battery endurance coming. Sub-par battery endurance, no headphone jack, and waaaaaay too pricey in the US.
ROG2 is looking more like the winner for me unless LG surprises with the G9 or HTC comes in with a proper flagship. This year hasn't been it for flagships in the US.
GSMArena, please try to get a hold of a Snapdragon S20 and do the battery test.
Thanks for great new speaker test, much easier to feel and compare! A minor problem remains - we don't the default audio settings tested for each phone (dolby mode, eq and other) and it can influence a lot.
Sorry, but for the price you pay on these flagships I don't see anything new or revolutionary in terms of outright image quality. Just nothing amazing at all & the last phone to make me go wow for details was the Mate 30 Pro
The point to keep in mind is that they've reviewed the Exynos version, which has significantly worse performance & battery endurance than Snapdragon version.
Those of you getting the Snapdragon version would get a decent battery life & little to no throttling.
