So Samsung has finally come up with a 12MP sensor in 2020 that's larger than the one in my defunct 2010 Nokia N8. Now if only they can put that single camera in a 5" S20e that weighs just as little, and do what Apple does not do (new design in a compact phone), it can be my daily driver.

Had it for a week, but the battery life was a BIG disappointment, so I returned the unit. Now I'm back to my P 20 and it has muuuch better battery life. Perhaps I'll switch to S20+.

joe nodden, 27 Mar 2020WOW that's some piss poor battery life.Seems like an error in they're rating as I switch from the S10+ to the S20 and my battery life is noticeably better. I do have the Snapdragon version of both, so I suppose that could make a difference.

So, why the change in audio testing to LUFS? It's an odd choice to move away from industry standards, and makes comparisons to other devices difficult.

This S20-series is the worst Samsung phones ever.
Friday the 20th March I bought the S20+ and today, Monday the 23th March I'm going to the store to return it.
Worst phone ever (Exynos version). I couldn't even play Arena of Valor without the phone overheating every 10 seconds causing huge lag in the game.
Then then cameras.. Oh my God.. My Note 8 takes better, sharper and more detailed photos than the S20+ - even on the so-called 64 Mp sensor my Note 8 photos are still sharper.. Night Mode is garbage too. Single take is the biggest, useless gimmick ever..
Seriously, Samsung has made the biggest scam ever with the S20 series. They are overpriced garbage. DON'T BUY THEM.

I just read the review and disappointed. That battery life is totally unacceptable for 4000 mAh device. Also I heard that from Korea and US, the best seller for this gen is actually S20 Ultra. I guess people really fell to that 100x marketing eh.

Why the are no close up pictures? I would like to know how intensive is bokeh when compare to S9/S10 with variable aperture.

You can get an S10 series device (S10e, S10, S10+, S10 5G or S10 Lite) and it will be miles better.

Currently I'm confused.
GSMARENA's review on S20 ultra camera was all about bad experience.
Now reading this article I'm only seeing how good S20 ultra is compared to S20 and Note 10 even with S20 ultra's crappy software.
Why is that ?

@GSMARENA , Thanks for the new camera review specially for including all camera sensor model name. It would be great if you provide these information while reviewing other flagships too.
I feel the review incomplete if i can't know which sensors the phone is using.

Gsmarena's camera comparison is very nice, but I would like to see a full resolution 64 megapixel Bayer vs 108 megapixel Nona/Quad Bayer comparison.

Anonymous, 17 Mar 2020How is the camera bad? It is better than S10 and Note 10.There are mobile phones which are considered "less good" than Samsung but they have way better cameras.
One can buy Samsung for other things that are good, but not because of the cameras.
Huawei for instance is just brilliant, too bad they don't have google services any longer.
One Plus 8 looks very promising, we have to see that in the coming days though but they seem to correct their mistakes and listen to the customers, so far.
Google has amazing camera function, too bad HTC didn't make it to the competition because they were simply amazing too with their camera.
I am not an Apple fan but, surprisingly, they know about camera in their iphones.
Nokia may lastly do a comeback and learn from their mistakes too, this remains to be seen.
Samsung got lazy because competition has lessened, yet they ask big money to feed the Mercedes of the owners and administrators.

Go check developers option in your Samsung handset, then try to check the plethora of background running apps and processes. No wonder Sammy phones are too bloated and slower than other Androids of its class.
Even GsmArena has mentioned a Mi Note 10 has similar performance to a S10+ (costing 1.5-2x the price). And oh, the Mi Note 10 actually has better camera performance.
