Excuse me but where is the usual sunlight legibility score?
It's very important for me and many other readers.
But I suppose that with 495 nits of max brightness it isn't spectacular or class leading.

It's hard to judge which one is better in auto when P40 Pro messes up colours so hard. Admittedly S20 Ultra has a slight upper hand in night mode with better microcontrast, but here P40 Pro isn't a terrible performer like you expected either. It's a substantial upgrade over P30 Pro's telephoto lens and in fact produces a decent result, and it should more so in auto after the software update. In the end it didn't suck, and that's the point I've been making so far.

What difference does it make? Anyway, P40 Pro is doing poorly in low light with its heavy noise reduction. Samsung is known for their heavy noise reduction but the Ultra really retains details well in the low light shots.

Once you use a 120hz phone as daily driver, it's difficult going back to 60hz.

Besides, More than 200 plus games currently support high refresh rate. Here's a list:

https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/9967/rog-phone-ii-list-of-games-supporting-above-60fps-gameplay

Stop making excuses for Huawei, they know 120hz would consume too much off that weak 4200mah battery with terrible standby time.

Huawei still suck video camera department.. How can 4k 60 record bitrate at 30 mb vs samsung s20 ultra 70 mb that huge difference in term quality.. Also 4k 30 only 30-40mb bitrate while samsung n iphone 11 can do 50 mb since long time ago hight bitrate can give high quality video.. Huawei p40 pro like huawei p30 pro for me nothing much different in term improvement such video department very disappointed.

There is a reason why Samsung used the IMX 586 for telephoto, coz they wanted the best telephoto camera on the market irrespective of lighting conditions.

No amount of image processing or ISP improvements can compensate for small sized sensor especially when the competition is using last year's budget flagship sensor.

P.S. I still stick on my thought that P40 Pro is a great phone overall, no doubt.

Not to mention, Huawei tends to have better computational photography. Also, bigger main sensor, better fingerprint scanner, and flagship performance all for less. Only caveat is the Google Mobile Services and some issues with American carriers.

Zoom cameras suck in low light.
Main camera not best in class either but right there at the top.
Ultrawide is the best on the market albeit with smaller FOV.
1200p screen with 90hz is weak compared to the QHD+ Giants sporting 120hz display.

I really want to like this P40 Pro since it uses the same chipset as the Mate 30 Pro and I definitely love the photo quality of it. But looking at the oversharpening effect on Pic 8, 10, 11 and 12, I think I'll stick with the Mate 30 Pro. Why that oversharpening effect is back? It now looks pretty much the same as in iPhone 11 Pro! -_-
