Agree that curved screen is pain.
After PP 7 Pro no more phone with curved screen for me
price is too high, it is not value for money anymore, they haven't upgrade the camera as well.if I talk about design it is absolutely looks stunning, they haven't provide the 120hz.
A sure no-go for me. 1. The curved screen - huge inconvenience - makes it less comfortable to grip and every time you drop it theres a huge amount of poo coming out. 2. 5G completely useless for now, no mm wave support, external modem and a lot of antenas which will reduce battery life. 3. The biggest drawback by a mile is the price. 700 euros for a phone no better in everyday life then 7T when the 7T is available right now for 500 euros without any contract. I beg to see someone justify spending the extra for the 8...
This phone isn't great value anymore, particularly in Coronavirus economic crash. The average person can't afford it at the moment.
> "the new 8 goes along with current trends and offers a curved screen to the sides"
Which is absolutely unnecessary and useless! Why are you so silent about this?! You, tech journalists, are supposed to be the smartest of all people, telling what is useful and meaningful in gadgets, and what is not! So why do you not do this?!
> "We have mixed feelings about this and at first glance it seems that the hole eats away more screen real estate compared to the minimalist notch from the previous generation."
Oh, really?! Ya think?!
> "and more "masculine" appearance if we can call it that."
Oh... /facepalm... No, you can't call it that! There can be nothing "masculine" in a smartphone's look, and, moreover, any concept of "masculinity" and "femininity" should be dead and gone!
> "Only people sensitive to the issue will notice, though, and isn't a deal-breaker for sure."
You mean, only sane people? Yes, for them it is a deal-breaker.
And, again, the absolute uselessness of the curved edge display itself didn't bother you at all, huh? Would you just stop being ignorant?
Over confident pricing, OnePlus has no brand value of Samsung or Apple
The selfie camera is 16MP with f2.4
But op7 / 7T had 16MP with F2.0
I got this from their official site and correct me if am wrong
OnePlus screwed up the pricing on this one. Should've been in the same bracket as the 7T.
8 Pro is much more reasonable considering what it offers.
For some middle class people One plus 8 is ok and is similar to Oneplus 7 pro. Difference is just processor, display and upcause price.
Price is little bit costly.
Otherwise I am very happy with phone and will like ro buy it.
Worst config for its asking price
Photos look low end level.
Out of focus and soft everywhere, even in the middle.
There is absolutely no need for a macro camera, when Oneplus could use the Ultra Wide for macro shots. It only requires autofocus for the Ultra Wide.
Sad to see Oneplus no longer offers the best value for the money, but differentiate their products.
