Cybran, 19 Apr 2020Even though the V60 will probably be my next phone... a 21:9 screen is simply too tall and too... moreMultiple cameras actually do provide utility when done correctly, what are you talking about? Multiple camera setups that include macro cameras and depth sensors don't provide much utility. Multiple camera setups that include a telephoto and ultrawide provide superior utility as they give the user 3 focal lengths as opposed to just 1.
Beware that these are carrier-locked phones with carrier locked cell radios. If you check the specifications for the T-Mobile LG V60, you'll see that it will work poorly, if at all, outside of North America. This is especially dumb because T-Mobile is the roaming-friendly telco you'd have if you travel.
GSM: 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz
UMTS: Band II (1900), Band IV (1700/2100), Band V (850)
5G: n71, n66, n41, n2, n25
LTE: 2, 4, 5, 12, 25, 26, 41, 46, 48, 66, 71
I'm interested in this phone but only more bands are enabled.

ESS didn't made anything costume nor gave discount even to it's own mother. They didn't even help their biggest OEM partners in resolving ESS hump. The ES9218KM2 is basically slightly (if at all) improved ES9028KM2 with integrated in the same IC the SABRE9601K alike amplifier with a tad lower output power. SABRE9601 is very good Amp but it's only enough to drive 64 Ohms cans satisfactory (not ideally) enough. There are discrete portable amplifiers that can drive most 300 Ohm's can's satisfactory for instance Topping NX3S will deliver 78 mW @ 300 Ohm's.
ZolaIII, 20 Apr 2020Well the DAC's actually do sound the same if not broken. There's a tail of OP Amp's & how ... moreYou are correct it is the op-amps that sit between the DAC and the audio jack which gives the distinctive sound signature of the device. The general trend I have seen is to use three of them (Vivo NEX S, Lenovo Vibe X3) one for I/V conversion and then the next two to amplify the analog signal one per channel to the 3.5 mm audio jack. This discrete audio solution I have seen provides reasonable drive to power upto 60 ohms to the max. Other older solutions like my Vivo X5Max uses just one op-amp for amplification hence less drive. What I mostly think ESS made a custom for one chip IC solution for LG with integrated DAC + I/V conversion + power amplifier. Correct me if i am wrong.

I feel like we are contribution the same way to this LG V60 section. You are trying to write a long nonsensical paragraph of hollow words, I like to keep things simple, quick.
I wonder when they will delete our posts and clear this forum ;)

Obviously what you gave me had absolutely nothing to do with what I'm trying to say, which is just an indicator of your desperation to cope up with your complete failure to defend your side.
Well anyway, you did a decent job! You just ruined it by deeming to ad hominem.
You really did well enough, but you didn't have to do that absolute trash technique anyway.

Anyway, I'd trust Merriam Webster more than your unknown and unreliable source any time of the day. Obviously that's not completely wrong, but you're definitely getting the wrong idea here.
Repeatedly?? OBVIOUSLY you made me repeat those things because it wouldn't go inside your nutcrack head!
Now I'm starting to lose patience to the low level of your understanding. It's getting severe enough that I don't even wanna waste a single second to your nonsense cr*ps.

Well, your statements are already nonsense right from the start.
Or maybe you could shut the hell up because I'm obviously talking to the other person and not you.

I wouldn't exactly hold my breath regarding Sony, looks like its default QC DAC again and in doubtfully good implementation as always. I have XZ1 & use external DAC which actually tells it all. At least Sony has good BT suport and duble as usual volume steps with as close to stock Android as possible without being Google's gimmipig. If that's comforting. At least now there are affordable good performing portable USB DAC's that doesn't cost all that much.

Not so much with Sony.
Every year, it's the s... moreI could not agree more. I myself will most likely buy Xperia 1 II or Xperia 5 II, but I will wait for reviews, if they are good, I will wait for it to fail on market and 1/4 year later I will buy it with 30% discount, WF-1000MX4/WH-1000MX4 and a Sony/JBL speaker to boot.
It's kinda the usual life cycle for a Sony smartphone in my region.
So win win for me, not so much for Sony :D
But LG is certainly tempting, I love mics on my backup V30+, headphone output is great, this time they kept colours on the cool side, dektop mode etc.
