"The Redmi Note 9S supports Dark mode - it will switch all system colors from white to black, and this way, you can save some battery juice on that LCD screen."

No, that would only save the battery on AMOLED/OLED screens. LCD consumes the same amount of energy at same brightness level, whether you have all screen set to white or black.

Geralb, 28 Apr 2020Buy the redmi k30 instead is better in every way apart from the battery! K30? Seriously? I can bend that phone easily and destroy it into half. That phone is pure garbage. Redmi Note 9S is still more structurally sound as the fingerprint sensor placement is not at the phone's frame. K30 cut too many corners.

IpsDisplay, 28 Apr 2020Unpopular opinion: 720p displays offers far more functionality wise (performance etc) Vs 10... moreMidranges cpu used nowadays are stronger than 800,801,805,808 and 810.
Not a problem to push 1080p screen.
Those old 8xx can even push QHD/4K without problem.

I've looked at the wide angle 1080p video, and despite lack of electronic stabilization (tripod mounted), the video is still jittery with cars skipping along. What's up with these Android makers? I've tried the iPhone SE and it's smooth in any situation, even in 4K60p. A constant video frame rate is the only thing preventing me from getting another Android phone. The Mi 9 is better than the 9T Pro in this regard but still seriously flawed, despite both having top range SoCs. Even Sony's CineAlta Xperia 1/5 is quite useless in its jitter. Until reviewers call it out, no one in the Android world would think to improve this.

Nobody isn't going to mention that this phone doesn't have any heat problem from day one? Or that Mediatek lie about the performance of almost all Helio Lineup?

IpsDisplay, 28 Apr 2020Unpopular opinion: 720p displays offers far more functionality wise (performance etc) Vs 10... moreIf you don't care about the lack of sharpening, yes.
It is better a 1080p screen and then low the resolution in game.

Hi guys @ gsmarena, just wanted to ask what really is the difference between these Indian/Chinese specd or named phones and their global versions, does ordering a 9 pro make any difference to having a 9s outside of India or is it just a naming thing but functionality is the same??

Redmi Note 8 Pro: NFC and 500 nits max brightness.

Redmi Note 9 Pro: No NFC and 450 nits Max brightness.

Something has gone very wrong here.

@GSMArena
Please keep posting body size in the spec sheet on the first page of the review. You do that in some reviews and do not in others, it's very inconsistent.

You have used Redmi Note 9"T" instead of "S" at a few places in the article. Please correct it.
