Poco launcher is also very popular and it resembles the stock android a lot.

Although I'm in the same boat (5.5 inches is my maximum comfortable size), I just move... moreWell in some dark modes, they tend to lower the brightness sometimes, you won't feel it because of the dark theam, the clearest example for this is the opera browser dark theme, it let's choose the brightness and the color temperature to lower blue light, so I think it's something like that.

And I DO have the same question regarding dark theme saving battery life in LCD screen. I mean, dark theme did save some battery life. But as far as I know, it's only applies to OLED screens. Anyone can enlighten me?

Every Xiaomi has an App Drawer. It's just not enabled by default. Go to "Settings" - Tap "Home Screen" - Tap "With App Drawer". That's it.
Youtubers never mention this and mention it as a negative. Well it does have one. There's also a Theme store to change the iOS(ish) icons and overall look of Android to your liking for free.
And even if it didn't, you could change the launcher and put a default pixel launcher, poco launcher if you don't want to config anything. Or If you like to personalize your phone there's always Nova Launcher.
