--voltaire9, 01 May 2020Everyone is going curved edges ,every manufacturer is taking part.Your probably wright but many companies have started taking the flaws of curved displays seriously, Samsung have made the curves smaller while some companies were rushing for that stupid waterfall design, Motorola tried to find a middle ground buy giving the possibility to cancel the edge with software black bars.

So much so that it was distracting me and content that fell onto the curve that I needed to touch (like X's for closing things) were very difficult to touch due to the Palm rejection.
This was a deal-breaker for me, as the content on the screen is one of the primary functions of a smartphone for me.

I can't believe that Amazon or whoever is selling on the US Amazon has price this phone at almost double the price that it is supposed to retail for... That is absolutely price gouging and is completely unacceptable. If you're going to order this phone order off of AliExpress or OnePlus it sell it's actually cheaper off of AliExpress. But I can't believe that Amazon has allowed this price that is absolutely ridiculous

I don't think that curved OLED display right now costs more than flat OLED. If you disagree , then please quote source for your claim.

Different gestures (ones from bottom up) can be used , which can work from a case.
So not a fact.
Also for a note : curved screen !== full screen and current very high stb ratios. S6/S7 edges had curved displays but they had top and bottom bezels any 2020 smart would be ashamed of and full screen phones (as marketed btw) not always use edge displays.

One will struggle with using "Back" and "Previous app" navigation gestures (both are done by pulling from screen's edge) on a curved display if a smartphone is with a case - that's a fact.
Hole-punch selfie camera leaves unused pixels above it - that's a fact.
[no cutouts > any other option > hole-punch] where ">" is for "looks better" - that's not a fact, obviously; so what?
