LCD with 300 something ppd is now high quality? And no, the image quality doesn't impress. Looks like something out of a 2015 phone. And it doesn't miss "a feature of two" lol, it misses a ton of features. No telephoto, ultra wide, macro, tof etc. Battery backup is hilarious by 2020 standards. And why the skewed alternative suggestion? There are two great phones costing around $400 which GSMA didn't even mention. The K30 Pro and Honor 30, both are better than the SE and pixel in EVERY aspect, except the A13 processor. Shame for not recommending those too.

In my country, where the biggest mobile phone retail chain is still selling iPhone 7 32GB version for about 430$, and it still attracts more attention than any other Android phone in the price range, then I believe this iPhone SE 2020 will sell like hot cake.
I don't think it can break any sale record, but it will still smash Android competitors, because A LOT of people only need to know that an iPhone from Apple.

I like all the features of this 2020 phone, I like the fast processor, the premium built quality, the gorgeous 6" inch bezeless amoled screen, the large 4000mAh battery, the 3x telephoto camera..... Oops... I am in the wrong section.

The only valid criticism here is for the battery, otherwise it would be a great daily driver for a lot of people. Not people who read or comment on gsmarena though, this phone might not be for you, but still great for many general users and it will show on the sales number.
- Average users won't care about the design or bezels as much as you do.
- The smaller screen size would be a good tradeoff for a compact lightweight phone.
- If you own an older iPhone and were waiting for an upgrade, this might seem a straight forward choice without spending a lot of money.
- People who are attracted to iOS ecosystem but couldn't afford will consider it too.
- A13, years of guaranteed updates.
- Excellent camera for the price.
- IP67 + Wireless charging for this price is a welcome addition too.
- 5W charger is meh, but support for 18W means you have an option if it bothers you too much. If you are a light user, you can just charge overnight and use it for the day.

Anonymous, 02 May 2020That is why I do not believe newer CPUs are that power saving compared to old ones (2012-2015)... moreI don't know how true the random number they throw every year (20-30% less power consumption) is but it is supposed to be power used for similar performance. So while they have lower battery consumption, they won't last 2x or 4x times because they have better computational performance.

First of all, its not all that cheap, specially in... moreApple doesn't compare to the cheap Chinese phones flooding the Indian market. Once you try an iPhone, you might start demanding better, too. This is a great entry for many.
The battery is fine for a full day, since most charge their phone every night. And bezels can be useful to many.

What about something called 3.5 mm headphone jack not present on most phones today?
What about something called people really want IOS?
What about something called you have used the same display back in 2013?
What about it gets IP rating and wireless charging and glass with big bezels is better than small-bezeled plastic-bodied no-IP rating smartphone?
What about great image proccesing and software updates and speed with the A13?

As a current long-time Windows Phone user, I so can agree with you. I have a Lumia 830 and also a Lumia 950 XL. Even with both phones running the very last build of Windows 10 Mobile, I still can get nearly 1.5 days of battery life despite heavy use. That said, I still remembered the day when my 830 was running Windows Phone 8.1 - it had more than 2 days of battery life! Since I started using Windows Phone, my power bank is now only reserved for my old backup Android phone.

I have looked at all the photo samples and the photo quality is exactly the same as any iPhone 11 models. No thanks, I never like the photo quality of A13 Bionic iPhones. It oversharpens so much that you can even see it on a simple 1366x768 PC monitor or TV.
I think I may buy the 2018 iPhones. Maybe the XR would be a better buy.

Unbelievable that this phone gets 4 stars!
First of all, its not all that cheap, specially in India. It costs 42500 and one can get a lot of options in this price range.
Second, the battery is pathetic.
Then the screen. Suddenly, 720P for 42500 is acceptable of GSMA.
Fourth, the design and huge bezels!
And what about the mega slow charger and lack of headphone jack!!
How on earth can this phone get 4 stars, i fail to understand this.

Sb, 02 May 2020I bought this phone and honestly for normal users the battery life is better than most android... moreYep, Apple's phones are so well optimized compared to most Androids that those who have never had an iPhone are understandably puzzled by the hardware performance.
This hits a lot of sweet spots for many and it will sell well.
