Anyway all I was pointing out was the difference in brightness but thanks for the heads up, appreciate it!

And yeah it's true. Sony really cares for the longevity of the product, because their devices are made to last, whereas the others are intentionally being killed by the manufacturers themselves for them to be forced to buy their newer and more expensive one next year. Now we know which one is actually thoughtful of their audience and which is just purely greedy overall.

And he hates it when Samsung doesn't warn him and completely dims the screen where he can never even able to see the screen.

Well how about a comparison to the phone from the so-called "best smartphone OLED manufacturer?"

Once again proved Xperia 1 II is built for speed. 8GB Ram is morethan enough if company knows how to do ram management. Sony's R&D always pays off.

LOL, I just watched a video the guy decidedmto run benchmarks on the phones to see loss of performance and battery.

              11 Pro Max, S20 Ultra, 1 ii, X2 Pro amd 8 Pro .

              Battery loss:

              - iphone = 13mAh/min
              - xperia : 15mAh/min
              - galaxy : 17mAh/min
              - one plus: 20mAh/min
              - oppo : 23mAh/min

39% more pixels to push than oppo, but used les 8mAh/min .
Chinese brands cannot handle even QHD screen well.

Once again speed test between 8GB Ram Xperia 1 II vs 12GB Ram S20 Ultra implies, anything over 8GB is waste of money and poor ram management.

Anonymous, 25 Jun 2020Please stop calling this phone 4K. Its like a disease. Its 1644p. A bit above the so called 2K... moreI'm tired of explaining definition of 4K and types of 4K. 2160p is just one type of 4K for 16:9 aspect ratio. For more information, you should learn from following words

"Note: Technically 21:9 smartphones do not exist, due to them having vertical screens, while if you turn them 90 degrees to landscape mode it's possible. 21:9 means that for each 21 pixels in the horizontal axis, there are 9 in the vertical axis. 9:21, which is the correct term for smartphones, is the opposite (21 vertical, 9 horizontal).
The LG New Chocolate (BL40) was the first mobile device with a 21:9 aspect ratio, 4.0 inch TFT display.

On February 25, 2019, Sony launched their latest flagship device, the Xperia 1, with the world's first 21:9 ultra-wide 4K HDR-enabled OLED (6.5") display in a smartphone. They have trademarked the name CinemaWide for use in their latest ultra-wide Xperia devices.[33] It is not the first mobile device to use a 21:9 aspect ratio display; that recognition belongs to the LG New Chocolate, released in 2009. It has a 4" TFT display with 345 x 800 pixels and 217 ppi density. The Samsung Galaxy Fold smartphone/tablet folding hybrid, with its 4.6" Super AMOLED cover display, and the Xperia 10 and 10 Plus are among the first modern devices with ultra-wide displays, with other smartphone manufacturers expected to follow suit after. Motorola introduced two 21:9 smartphones in 2019, the One Vision in May[34] and the One Action in August,[35] both with a 6.3" FHD+ 1080p LCD screen.

Note that both Motorola and Sony chose to use a screen resolution of 2520×1080, rather than the CE resolution of 2560×1080, as defined in CTA-861. This leads to the device to have a "true" 21:9 (7:3) Aspect Ratio, rather than the normal CE Aspect ratio of 64:27. The Xperia 1 also has an odd Aspect Ratio of 320:137, and would have been able to meet 64:27 with a more even resolution of 3840×1620. Sony does not adhere to consumer standards, as with their Home Theater projectors that feature a 4096×2160 4K resolution, rather than the CE resolution of 3840×2160.[36] 4096×2160 is a resolution only relevant in digital cinema (DCI), where movie theater projectors feature this resolution with either letterboxed 4096×1716 or pillarboxed 3996×2160 content for "Scope" (2.39) and "Flat" (1.85) aspect ratios, respectively. The full panel aspect ratio of 256:135 is unfit for normal consumer content with a 16:9 container aspect ratio. "

I guess this will make you gain some knowledge over 4K and stop whining about Sony.

Nice phone although imo all the new flagships are too expensive.
I'd choose this over the competition the camera's are seemingly very capable and the 21:9 4k screen is really nice on the xperia 1 for watching movies.
4k is only nice if you are able to see the difference but the look (colours and sharpness) of the screen in 1080p of 2k are more to my liking than on the s20u.

And in the conclusion/alternatives it's not really fair to say the s20+ and s20u have a 120hz display without saying it's only in 1080p if you want 2k you won't be getting the hrr.

How bad can it be? If software was ready for testing and the battery is 4000mah...and Sony is supposedly so godly amazing at battery optimizing even with 3000mah battery.
