SizN80, 23 Jul 2020So performance still behind Apple a13 then, cool story.A13 is a joke of a processor, pure throttling mess further limited by handicapped ecosystem of iOS.
Fahad89, 23 Jul 2020Lolz still no match for apple A13 🤭😁Only next year’s 2021 Snapdragon flagship chip will come close to apple’s 2019 A13, loool and even then we still not sure if it will beat it outright.
Anonymous, 23 Jul 2020But everything else ahead iphone. That's the cool storyCamera still behind iPhones
IP rating still behind iPhones
Chip still behind iPhones
Build quality still behind iPhones (aluminum vs iPhone stainless steel)
Global availability waaaay behind iPhones :D looool
The list goes on.This a great spec phone though,if you want to talk about specs instead of using it then this is for those people.

There is no information on Asus official site that this phone has 10 bit screen. Excellent if true, but I doubt it.
Anonymous, 23 Jul 2020Lol LCD uses more power to illuminate black color than OLED as OLED does not illuminate light ... moreNo.
LCD uses same amount of power for black, white, green, red, yellow, blue, purple etc ...
Oled uses zero for black, but uses 2x compared to LCD for white.
Oled changes brightness according to how much white on screen.
This is how some cmpanies advertise 900, 1000 or 1100 nits.
Using a white dot that is equivalent of 1% of screen surface.
Chrome is the most used app.
Just few websites give option to go black.
While browsing, phone with oled uses more power than one with LCD.
Unless, you have anything black, you are not saving power. Just using even more.
So rog 3 cooling better now? Too many dead motherboard issues on rog 1 and rog 2 becuz of overclock problem
That is one of the most comprehensive reviews that I've ever read. Keep up the good work!
Fahad89, 23 Jul 2020Lolz still no match for apple A13 🤭😁It's just benchmark numbers. They do not account for real-world performance. iPhone will throttle to maximum 15% under load (Android flagships with cooling chamber throttles to less than 10%, while gaming phones virtually do not throttle. Poorly optimised/cooled Androids like realme have a lot of performance reduction).
If I consider all the above, iPhone is equivalent to a SD855+ Android with cooling. Still pretty good, but can be better.
Fahad89, 23 Jul 2020Lolz still no match for apple A13 🤭😁Benchmark it a few more times. A13 will throttle while SD865+ in the RoG Phone 3 will maintain its performance. Sure, Apple had been dominating in the benchmarks ever since the Bionic series of A processors is released but like all things, their days are numbered.
BliTTzZ, 23 Jul 2020From what I know it's not true 10 bit but rather 8 bit + 2 bit smoothing. There is no reliable way that I know of to really verify this, but I have spoken to Asus engineers and they explicitly state it is a proper 10 bit panel. I have no reason to doubt that.
To the headphone jack heads like me, just get the Drop x THX Panda. It's a wired/wireless over ear Planar Magnetic headphones that sound just like the wired headphones which is exactly what you wanted. It's only $300 - $400 so no problem considering you're paying premium for a flagship. I wish Drop would make a sequel to that headphone using all the best technologies (tech from Oppo PM-3, Bluetooth 5.2, all DACs like LDAC and codexes from AptX)
Anonymous, 23 Jul 2020You mean Asus know nothing about hardware being nr 1 motherboard and graphics card vendor? And... moreDesktop motherboard is not constrained with space. While you need different materials, size, design circuits to fit the tiny space. ASUS is master in many things but certainly their motherboard, internals design they are apparently not lleaders
At least Asus has a USB-C over ear headphone available at the store. I can still charge and listen with that wired headphone at the same time. Every flagship owner should be doing this like me. Gone are the days where it kills you as it was soooo last decade. Nowadays, it's safe to do what I do!
TSi Power, 23 Jul 2020try a wireless BT headphone/Neckband etc, you will love it. wires are always messy, and when i... moreIt's not messy when your headphones have thick wires. I have an ATH-M50X and I expect everyone in this community to have over ear wired studio headphones like mine. Not like Beats by Dre and their razor thin wires.
Anonymous, 23 Jul 2020You can use the usb-c to 3.5mm dongle..No! No! Screw the dongle. You'll look stupid keeping that thing connected to the phone at all times. Just keep the AeroActive Cooler on. I refuse to do it the Apple way or the common way which is what I said.
From what I know it's not true 10 bit but rather 8 bit + 2 bit smoothing.
