I have both the Samsung Galaxy S10e and the Pixel 4a. They are really two different beasts, each with their own pros and cons. But I would have to say day in and day out I prefer the Pixel 4a.
The display on the S10e is a bit nicer but the shear amount of bloatware on the S10e is outrageous. To make matters worse Samsung keeps dropping more and more crap on my S10e that I don't want and can NOT uninstall.
The Pixel 4a on the other hand has zero bloatware and almost everything can be uninstalled if you don't have a need for it.
One drawback for the Pixel 4a (and many users of other Pixel models) is that at this point Android 11 Chat Bubbles feature is not working. Right now it only works for those wh were in the Android 11 Beta program or for those who are willing to install the Beta version of the Google Messaes app. This is a known issue to Google and you can do a search on the Pixel Community pages to see what I mean.
That one single minute point aside, I prefer the Pixel 4a over the S10e.

Why didn't anyone notice, that bezels on 4a are bigger than on Pixel 5? Also the chin is more thick that other bezels, so there is no that "symmetrical design" as on Pixel 5?

Why not just get the OnePlus 7T while they are still available at $449. The 7T beat the 4a in every performance category by a long shot. And has larger 6.5" display. The only compromise is having only 4G but in many cases it's not much slower than 5G

For those who use the jack: how loud, clear, and crisp is the sound through wired headphones? GSM Arena can't be bothered with audio reviews anymore, and I've heard folk elsewhere say that the max volume is disappointingly low.

They clearly have superior software support and you WILL notice. I compared the 4a to my friends phones who have comparable processors/graphics chips and are bigger. The 4a is more reliable in opening apps and so.
They have xiaomi and samsung phones and their launchers/active apps are not efficient. It is well known at this point.
Adding to this Google is improving their power saving for rarely used apps, so it saves PERFORMANCE, not battery

Pixel 4A is the Blu vivo xl4 ($150 or less) which I have.. I have the Pixel 4a too and it like a smaller Blu Vivo xl4! The Pixel has many identical UI's such as the call dialing feature which I absolutely hate! The Pixel 4a has a better processor and more ram and that's what cost $200 more. All the hype overrated reviews, drama and brainwashing is what's selling this phone (I returned it) not the quality or performance!
