It's not a great effort. As far as I know they haven't improved the zoom of the Pixel 3a and I have a Pixel 3a. In perfect light conditions without shadow areas the results of the zoom are nearly indistinguishable from pure digital zoom. You only notice that it uses machine learning in order to make the contours look smoother. This leads to results that rather look fake. Note that even the Pixel 4 doesn't have a 2x camera. The Pixel 4 has a 1.6x 16 megapixel camera, which is used as a 12 megapixel 1.85x or 10 megapixel 2.0x camera.

Thinking about upgrading from a realme x2, miss a smaller phone. But pixel 4a dont sell in Denmark.

I bet that you hav... moreWhere can I watch Netflix and text a friend at the same time? Or take notes while watching a YouTube video or live translate words from picture/text while doing whatever other activity on the bottom screen.
Don't worry you'll get that feature on your iPhone in year 2025.

Fredwinia, 16 Aug 2020Went directly to battery life.noticed pathetic battery life. Stopped reading.next phone review pls. Yes, 76 hours is very very average, if nothing else, you can say google is very consistent in it's conservative hardware choices.
Had Google put in a 4000 Mah battery in it , many people would have been satisfied to have an OK mid range phone with a decent camera and good battery life.
Good Battery life for most people is a core required feature.

As usual, after 2-3 years I'll sell my phone, in a good condition I will get around €150-300 (depends on the model) then I'll put another €100-150 to buy the new one. But those mi-mi things.. here in my country you'll lucky enough IF someone willing to pay €75 .

My experience says that it is software optimization which matters a lot rather than worrying about battery capacity or SoC.
That is exactly where Google wins the game. Be it Pixels or Nexus series, it is software which was focus of Google rather than creating a hardware wonder.
Have been relying on vanilla or near vanilla Android phones since beginning. Currently I am using MiA1 since its launch in India. It's SoC SD625 has never given me any problems. It's working butter smooth even today. Regarding battery capacity, it's all about usage pattern of a person. For me MiA1 goes whole day. Thanks to its pure Android OS.
Hence, pixel4a is good as it should be. It's not suppose to be a on paper champion rather meant to showcase power of pure Android OS at a reasonable price tag. And it is not hyped up like Nord.
