Anonymous, 04 Sep 2020too expensive... :(... do you also expect to be able to buy a Maserati for $350?
unfortunately it came with curve screen... not my cup of tea...
IpsDisplay, 05 Sep 2020Yeah and what are the dxo nay sayers ratings based on? Emotions?
You say because you have no idea how they work.
Otherwise , you would never care again.
Few brands do not even bother to send device anymore ....
Reading this review it's crystal clear that this is a good phone.
It's great to see Xiami going in the right direction.
Does anyone know if they give up to 3yrs of software updates?
Can't wait for this brilliant phone.
Will get the 16Gb Ram,556Gb Room.
Anonymous, 04 Sep 2020Their rating is based on around 1500 different photo samples.1500? You mean 1500 dollar smartphone only getting 5 camera samples?
The OV48C is *not* a Quad Bayer sensor, it's a true 48MP Bayer. This is the single most important fact about the phone and you got it wrong.
I was ready to order one when I noticed "No water protection, 3.5mm jack".
Bit of a shame.
It seems that the Mi 10 Ultra uses a worse camera lens than the Xiaomi Note 10. The edges are a bit soft, possibly worse than the Note 10 lens and you only get f/1.85 instead of f/1.69 , the field of view is the same.
"The sensor was too large for the periscope"
No, of course the sensor was not too large. The lens was too large. It's no problem to use an extremely large sensor in a phone, they also could have used a medium format sensor. The problem is to make a lens for it. When you put a large sensor in a phone and only use a small area, that's exactly the same thing as using a small sensor.

People were waiting for Note 20 series, iPhone 12 series, Huawei Mate series.
In comes Xiaomi and drops the phone of the year casually.
Wow, Now thats a phenomenal phone.
If only it had the 3.5mm Jack and an Ip 68 Resistance, it would have been hands down the best in the world at the moment.
Finally omnivision is getting the respect they deserve the OV48C sensor is equivalent to the best Sony sensor currently on the market
Omnivision did it right make the pixels bigger not like Samsung who went for more megapixels and worse camera performance
Battery life is horrible just as I saw in YouTube reviews
Lastly I find it funny that people bash dxo mark when they have tones of data and samples for each smartphone...
And the people that criticize dxo have no points to back up their claims
Such great device , it is unfortunate that Xiaomi refused to launch it globally but knowing that pro is 1000€ , this would be over 1300€
Why you do not compare in very high-contrast scenes single-frame HDR photos vs. multi-frame HDR photos, and standard video vs. HDR video???
