I'm no expert, but maybe this is worth a try:
> Settings, then tap the search icon & type Sleeping apps, select Sleeping apps from the search results, then hopefully you'll see the option > Apps that won't be put to sleep > + Apps (that won't be put to sleep).
Hope this works, but if not then maybe search/ ask Samsung and/ or XDA forums.
Good luck.

J, 03 Jan 2021I guess you've never heard and used OxygenOs...So true
I really hate the fact that after update chat heads function for Facebook Messenger (containing the picture of the person who last sent a message) disappeared. With the new setting, whatsapp would appear (and open in an annoying resizable windows). Any solution to make original FB Messenger chat heads visible again on my Samsung S20? :(
One UI one of my favorite OS, I just love how it's all bubbly, it's not the cleanest but it's good enough. By the way, OxygenOs is the best, no question.

I've already tried disabling all optimizations and allowed all 7 apps to be able run on background, but recent apps are killed and showed only 4 apps in list. :( This was default behavior on my S8 with Android 9. I've switched to S20 5G in summer and was happy that no apps were killed form recent apps list. Can somebody confirm this too? I've not done factory reset yet.

Btw for the people who ask for clean OS or hate bloated OS... Its actually a difficult discussion, because for me perhaps Facebook is bloatware. But for someone else it's a must have app.
I recently got the latest Pixel device.. you know the one from Google? The cleanest/stock Andoid right?
Yeah well I don't have long/scroll screenshot. So if I want to use that I need a 3rd party app... I'm not sure if that's the point of a clean OS? The need to install 3rd party apps with ads etc...
So yeah I dont mind if a phone comes with bloatware BUT atleast let me disable non-important apps.
There will never be a perfect phone with the perfect hardware and/or software.. So just appreciate or just don't buy a smartphone ;)
MrPong, 30 Dec 2020Lol Samsung's OneUI is still wayyyy better than any Chinese OS. True.I guess you've never heard and used OxygenOs...

The problem with Samsung UI they keeps adding bloatware and force users to use even if they don’t want to use it that causes performance issue and throttling don’t blame Exynos.

I can only speak from a OneUI 2.5 perspective, but before changing any settings I would take note or screenshot original settings, so you can change back.
If you want to allow the App to run in the background:
You can long press on the required App icon > App info. > under 'Usage', tap Battery > Switch On: Allow background activity (App can use battery in background).
Further/ alternative options are available to turn Off Opimisation for individual apps, & can choose which apps are put to Sleep in 'App power management'.

I use all the apps I need (extra email app and others) and if I didnt need them, I would straight uninstall them. oneUI is good enough with several good features, better than those crappy ios wanna be or UI full of advertise.
Notification bubbles? No thanks, I'm not installing this childish nonsense.
The LastPass issue should be solved on their side, it's not a Samsung bug. Samsung Pass works just fine. I wanted to use LastPass and other managers in the distant past but they were completely useless and non-functioning so if the issue you mentioned is the only problem, I'd almost call it a victory.
