The numbers don't really add up.
I highly believe it's a software thing. As S21 series are running pre release software.
in Speed Test G Exynos beat the SD version in CPU as it's supposed to do. Though Exynos loses overall because of the GPU.
I want to see the benchmark score after the release.

Oh what miserable and disappointing results.
Hopefully the S21Ultra will do better, because that's what I intend to buy.

This year Samsung really dropped the ball on their S series and to me only S21 Ultra is worth looking into among the entire S21 lineup. And I'm being honest here, I would legitimately consider getting Xperia 5 II over this if it was available in my country. You lose a bright 800 nits display and a good quality selfie shooter, but gain a glass back, IP65 rating, significantly better battery life, cameras with somewhat more pleasing image processing + more versatile manual mode, an expandable storage and a headphone jack instead. It's just a better product all things considered, plain and simple.

There's nothing attractive about this phone when I can get last year's S20 (which is actually better than this in some ways) for a lot less. I guess losing their biggest rival in the Android space two years ago made them feel like they could just play around and do nothing to compete in the market, I'm hoping that Xiaomi and BBK will drive Samsung into a tight corner and open their eyes.

P20 Pro does not have OIS as well. And wiped floor with S9.
Having OIS, does not mean auto mode will necessarily drop shutter to 1/2s, 1/4 or 1/8s to grab more light.

My phone does not have OIS.
I can easily handle 1/2s shutter without blur.
All I need to do is to use two hands.

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2021It is not about price. S21 main camera = 44m2 area P40 main camera = 73mm2 area P40... moreP40 lacks an OIS which should give S21 massive 2-3 stops of exposure time advantage, so even if you take the sensor size difference into account, it's S21 that has an obligation to do better especially in low light.

Exynos 2100 GPU scores are really strange. It's got 3 more cores, a new process node and next generation compared to its predecessor and yet the improvements are modest. I was expecting it to be at least somewhere between Adreno 660 and Mali G78 MP24. There's also aggressive thermal throttling shown in 3DMark that makes it on par with its predecessor. However, if I had to choose between Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 888, I'd choose the former as it doesn't burn hands.

I'm really disappointed. The photos and videos from this phone look very medium-range. It's all noticeably worse than from last year's S20. So even the camera is a downgrade.

Too bad, because I really like Samsung's OneUI and its software benefits over other Android implementations, but this brand is really becoming worse and worse every year. In my opinion, the last true flagship from Samsung were the S9's era devices (S9/S9+, Note9). Starting from S10 it is becoming worse and worse each year.
I'm the S20 owner and this device is probably my last Samsung phone, really.

Daydream81, 22 Jan 2021There a several logical reasons, first being the pixel density, PPI, which is ultimately more ... moreLame excuses. Iphone SE 2020 is trashed by samsung users by having HD screen, despite being small screen. S21+ has less than 400ppi.

Downgrade is downgrade. Samsung is using FHD to increase profits.
Even midranges phones like Moto One Vision and Xperia 10 have more pixels on screen than the $1100 galaxy .

Samsung uses QHD on a 71,6cm2 screen (S6/s6 edge), but cant use on 94,1cm2 (S21) nor 107,8cm2 (s21+).

More pixels is not to keep you from seeing them. Photos and videos look better at higher resolution. Texture of games as well.

Brands need to stop making smaller versions too weak compared to the biggest.
I do not ask for a 5,5" flagship.
Just to make the 6" as good as the 6,8" one.

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2021LG V60 review: cons were the downgrade to FHD (like Samsung) , charging speed (25W like Samsu... moreThere a several logical reasons, first being the pixel density, PPI, which is ultimately more important than the actual resolution. The LG V60 is a big 6.8" display with a PPI less than 400, which is not flagship grade. The S21 has a much smaller 6.2" display with a PPI higher than 420 so it's very difficult for anyone to see the individual pixels.

Secondly I presume the charging complaint has already been addressed in the S21 review, as it was the top ' 'CON' usually the most important cons are listed first. So the LG V60 had it as it's last complaint probably because it has a massive 5000mAh battery so 25W would still take a long time compared to the S21 smaller battery. If you only have 30 minutes to charge your phone the LG V60 would be at 42% where the S21 would be ta 55%. Now regardless of each phones actual endurance, the average consumer would be happier with 55% than 42% thus more of a upset for the consumer and thus why it landed on the V60's list of cons.

Lastly, technically both the LG V60 and S21 can achieve a level of zoom in their respective photo and video modes. Both the S21 and LG V60 crops in from it's high resolution 64MP sensor to reach it's various zoom levels with exception lying in the S21's 64MP sensor is the dedicated zoom sensor as it has a slight optical zoom to it. Thus, the manufacturer did not "cheap out" and reuse the main sensor as LG V60 did. This is probably what the reviewer perceived it as on LG's side and mentioned it in the list of cons. This is probably due to both the LG V60 and S21 are expensive devices so shortcuts/methods such as this are less forgivable. I believe this con was unnecessary as the reviewer mentioned when commenting on the method of zoom used by the LG V60, "We're not upset by this; images are quite good in details and the sensor has plenty of resolution to cut a good zoomed image from it." So ultimately I agree with it being misleading that readers may skim over the camera review and read the Pro's and Cons as the LG V60 has bad telephoto capabilities where in actuality if the reviewer felt that strongly about it they should have worded the con as, "For the price, a dedicated zoom lens would be reassuring" or somewhere along those lines.

TL/DR: GSMArena's Pros and Cons for each device are there for good reason.

The days when Xiaomi sold flagship processors for 300 Euro are gone, mi 9 was the last.

Samsung keeps getting worse with years, as you won't even get a charger with this thing I'd rather buy a Xiaomi with better chipset (I'm in Europe) and get even a free phone case... all that for half the price.
