I see a lot of contradictory information and thoughts.
I have bought the S21 vanilla and I like it. With Exynos 2100 on my second charge I had 6h SOT.
I can understand that if you are coming from an S20/S10 it does not worth the change, except the CPU, which is something different.
I was an 100% oneplus fan and totally hated samsung/iphone. Now locking at the prices, there is no big change.
I wanted something small, close to my old good friend oneplus 3 since 2016, which still runs, but lag started to appear.
In the last 3 months I bought and returned back the following phones, OP 7T, OP8, OP8T and S20 5G. All OP phones were heavy and too big, performance very good. S20 was OK, except curved display which I do not like.
So in the end S21 covered everything. I now that is not the best, or the cheapest, but kick almost the checks.
The only negative points from my side, limited to 8GB, and hard to step away from some OP gestures and especially oxygen OS.

It just has bad reputation, and reputation ... moreHonestly for the price I am against plastic back phones but why are you using a puny video like this to support your claims? Besides even if glass dissipates heat better (unless the plastic back is very thin) and are more rigid and does not bend(but breakable), it’s not like plastic has no advantages. You may even pry open the plastic back with your fingernails, it is also lighter and cheaper to replace.

There's nothing wrong with an plastic phone. It just has bad reputation, and reputation doesn't mean anything. Just take a look at this video, very good explanation and reasons.

The S6 was the worsk selling Samsung phone because they remove the microsd card ....
Now the S21 remove the sdcard, phone call recordingand and all usb cam connection.
I will keep my note 8 for some more time

Not to mentio... moreMany times repeated price point is turning from laughable to irritating: not only S21 is not worth its downgrades but you can also pay much less now for S20 and get more features than S21.
And you are that lucky one who gets SD888, but how about "Exynos world"? How about comparing new Exynos 2100 to the year old SD865+?

in efficient processer optimisations as always
dvfs setup probably bad as always getting confused
throttling could be a issues as its been clocked along higher than the snapdragon 888 in same configuration as the exposure 1080 not as powerful it generates less heat probably has better sustained performance
on paper this should be faster than the snapdragon 888 in cpu by around 5 to 15%
gpu wise its still lacking
1080p display so onscreen runs should be higher
less stress on cpu
on 1440p maybe they is not suffient cooling that leada to load of heat trapped and only ultra has it because larger

Also the regular S21's "Glastic" back does not shatter but scratches far more easily than S21+/Ultra's glass back, which makes the protection using a case pretty much mandatory if you want to keep it clean (Metals cannot make scuffs on a glass surface - it readily does on a plastic).
Completely unrelated side note: I changed my username slightly but don't get confused, I'm still the same person as the one you replied to.

Yeah, plastic back is also a con, but it depends on how much you like plastic.

lol i had high expectations with this one at least they should have made some improvements from the s20.. even the 8T is better specs vise.
Overall with the phone i like how it looks (not a fan of the s20 line up from last year)
What i wish they would have done - at least have 30-35w fast charging.. would have loved /to see a macro camera. The rest/most of the specs apart from the looks are quite similar to s20 from last year. Sure s20 is much cheaper now and hope they have improved the AF on this camera. s20 i had issues.
Il wait some moths and see how this goes.. Samsung might release a s21 FE version? lets see
