Also, you cannot replace the front cover. The screen is a magnet to dirt and grease and finger prints.
I've had the phone for over a year, I got it when my iMate JAMA was stolen out my suit case at the airport (long story - stupid italians) I got it feeling so excited, but after a week I quickly realised that this phone is WAY overrated. The price tag should be half of what it is, and the review prooves it. There is no reset button like that on an iMate or HTC so I have to take the battery out and put it back in to reset when it freezes - which it does about 3 times a week. The way the review brushed over the bad internet browser is misleading. Simply put, it sucks. Scrolling lags and I have to reload the page often. Then, as for the "reponsive" touch screen, that's just a staight lie to our faces. It's hard work to answer an incoming call - you start out lightly touching the "Accept" button in the screen, then, 10 seconds later you have escalated to almost beating it with your fist, hoping that whoever is calling you does not hang up withing the next few days. Before this however, you have to "touch" the shortcuts key below the screen (elliminating the point of having a touch screen all together). Also, after you finaly are able to answer the call, to hang up you have to press the shortcuts key again and then press the incredibly tiny and unrecognisable hang-up button taking the form of a badly drawn phone with a cross next to it. The camera is also slow and bad quality no matter how many megapixels you have. It seems the only good thing about this phone is it's QWERTY keyboard. I find myself typing on my F700 just as fast as on the computer - as long as it doesn't freeze before I press "send". - So to sum up, It's the most crap phone that was ever made, its worse than a brick, so don't get it even if you are payed to.
hi please can someone tell me how i can change the front of this phone? i scrached it all so i need a new one!i dont know from where to un clip it
Does somebody know exactly, how is it typing message on this phone, because, i type messages a lot, and i want 2 buy this phone
If you didn't know, this phone came out not that recently. The review did however. I would rather prefer an HTC in this area because Samsung phones in this niche are more crude as they are still young and not much experimentation has been done. In a year, if Samsung releases a new "touch/qwerty", sure I'll buy it.
there was a hype about this phone -- it was announced right after iphone and everyone thought it's so cool at the time. promissing 5 mpix camera, keyboard and all. and look at this korean toy that came out. free with the contract kinda phone. boring. waiting for nokia e71...
Well i had one for a week on Vodafone in the UK and had to send mine back, maybe it doesnt sound that BIG but when its in the hand it feels huge, though i did have a SE W890 beforehand, still compared to the N95 it feels big.
The Texting on the on-screen keyboard is responsive but the delete (C) key is located at the top-right hand corner which inevitably means you end up pressing the number 3 key and adding more letters! not good. The shutter lag on the camera was pretty bad, at around 5 seconds most of my pics were blurred, the AF was slow too.
The best thing i can recommed about this phone is the keyboard, its nice, solid and responsive. i'd suggest seeing this phone before buying it.
I'm not sure why the reviwer kept saying its bulky. Does it feel bulky in hand? Coz on paper its absolutely not.
At 15.9mm if this is bulky then what you would call SE X1 at 16.7mm? Is there any other model with slide out keypad that measures less than 20mm? Samsung did a great job IMO.
and @rony. Not sure what you meant but I think Nokia guys should learn how to design a nice phone from Samsung.
The vodaphone version is reviewed here w/ an AT&T sim. Where can that version be purchased with the QWERTY keypad for use in the states? Every site listed on the phones page is selling the AZERTY keypad.
well im scond..heh heh......and yup se x1 for me too....still a bit concerned about the stability of windows os though...im talking frequent restarts and freezes. As for this phone its something which will look good on some hot chick in a business suit...maybe we should send the nokia guys to samsung to teach them how to produce good looking phones.
