The updated camera samples just look superb, especially the macro images. Samsung sure did it right this time around with their camera. I can't wait for the 8 megapixel shootout between Sony Ericsson C905 and Samsung I8510 INNOV8!

I am SE fan but quite impressed with its new samples almost match C905.I would like to see comparision between but these two monsters.

Thumbs up for GSM Arena Guys, who made such a quick and good review... i8510 is surely the next block buster of the century. Both i900 and i8510 will surely not let any other cell phone to top!!! Samsung you are the best!!!!!!!! I simply love you guys including GSM Arena guys ;-)

shiv179, 03 Aug 2008why compare the camera to the useless iphone, instead of the n82?? c'mon gsmarena!!yea very good point, you know i'm getting the feeling GSMarena are kinda moving over to the Samsung side....now i'm not trya offend anyone here GSMarena you guys are great mobile review site and its always the first site i goto. but what i'm trya say is that before it really was the N95 as all multimedia power horse and the iphone for touch screen icandy and style those were the two extremes of the mobile world and GSMarena made a great Omnia review and we can tell that the iphone really does some compitation now bigtime so the N95 and N96 were left and now samsung has pretty much toped that too and yea i do agree that the reason why N96 is taking so long is because nokia wantes the N95 8GB to sell well and i have to say i bought it 9months ago and even today the N95 8GB is really expensive....but i think GSMarena are kinda topido-ing the iphone and that good cause its expenisve for no reason!!! and this phone looks pretty slick and the only downside i have on my N95 8GB is music qualtiy but this has the digital dolby thing!!! must be amaizng!!!

SE is no match to this phone, this is one of the best phone going to b avaliable at the end of August, hats off to samsung

I wonder what the double LED flash is like... That's the only downside for me as a majority of my photographs are taken at night.
Would love to see a 8mp shootout with the SE, Samsung and a Cannon camera or something as comparison.

Wow the Omina photo was almost as good as the INNOV8, just the 3 extra mega pixels gave it the edge. The Omina has the best 5mp camera for sure, thats why gsm arena choose it.

Is there any particular reason why this phone and it's "desktop" look like they have been put together by nokia? I mean, seriously... Clean, elegant, fashionable, cool look? And the software screams out Series 60...
Gratz on choosing to make, maybe the third actual good phone in the history of Samsung mobile, but shame for having to make it look like another brand. And curiously enough.. i'm a SE fan..

I've been a hardcore SE fan, but this phone has really got me re-evaluating my allegiance. Even if I don't cross-over in the end, kudos to Samsung for one smashing piece of technology the Earth can be proud of should aliens drop by. And oh, I just love the simple, logical and practical design- one of SE's strong suits. To other fanboys, please give credit where it's due. The Koreans have gone absolutely bonkers!

Come on guys N96 is not completely dead, i still like its design and its go pretty much everything excpt for the divx and 8mp and optical sensor but its got the navi wheel and i would still consider it but like someone said here that if we buy it and than 1 month later theres a 8MP coming....that's not gonna be cool....but i do agree with everyone whats the wait? why can't they just start selling? Samsung are smart about realising their phones.....people are going crazy for a upgrade to N95 and iphone rival and samsung did just that....it reminds me of the Sega dreamcast story.....when people had enough of PS1 and really wanted a 128bit gaming console Sega released the Dreamcast and as a result sony had to release the PS2 8 months early cause the dreamcast was taking all the sales

But then, INNOV8 being 8 Megapixels won it ...
Anyhow, I can see N96 sales seriously down ... Everyone is in favour of INNOV8 only here ...
Now, if all Claimed features appear, & Music Quality is "Samsung Excellent" (like U600, etc) then this would be the best phone on market ...
A Lot depende on Music Quality, I still say ...

i8510 support more video code than c905 although the screen & memory also larger than c905 plus i8510 got a 3.5mm music jack thus i very happy i8510 & n96, both of them support WMV

N96 is not a successor of N95 8gb. Its just another phone.
Successor will have a better camera at the very least.
It is incorrect to compare i8510 and N96, because N96 will lose because of camera (just a bit though). In my opinion, i8510 is one level higher than N96.
It is correct to compare i8510 and C905, in my opinion. They are quite similar. I really really want to see a comparison of pictures made by C905 and i8510 side by side.
Few details:
I don't care if its smart phone or not I'm comparing. Smart phone is better in my opinion, but I won't die if it isn't. I don't care who copies who, I want the very best, not the very original.
But thats just me :)

Guys! Here in Ukraine we can read Russian language and were able to see pictures on one resource that said to post "final" pictures by C905.
C905 wins by noise (less noise?)
but loses to i8510 in detail (Samsung has more noise on the sky, but it also has more details).
Basically:
Samsung is a smart phone, SonyEricsson is a phone
My opinion - SE should stop making photo flagship phones, make smart phones with easy-to-use menu like normal phones (easy to use yet has smartphone growth potential).
Samsung has bad flash, SonyEricsson has Xenon flash, can't argue. But we'll need to see Sammy's pics taken in the dark with its flash before we can make conclusions how much better xenon is.
Both Sammy and SE have ridiculous resolution of 320x240 on their screens. Its a tie.
Sammy has bigger screen. Bigger screen with same pixels means bigger pixels, its easier to read. Sammy wins here (but bigger res would have been a much bigger advantage).
Sammy can record VGA@30fps and QVGA@120fps, while SE can only record QVGA@30 fps. Thats normal for SE, Sammy wins here.
Sammy has 3.5mm for headphones. You can't argue here - its a great advantage over fastport (unless you have all kinds of expensive stuff for fastport). Sammy wins here (if you don't have fastport).
Neither has stupid-looking design (in my opinion) so its a tie.
Size matters? Sammy is thinner but wider, while SE is narrow but thicker. Thats a tie for me because I want neither of it, I want my phone to be both thin and narrow, guess its impossible with 8mp camera...
Samsung uses MicroSD, SonyEricsson uses M2. If you use anything other than SonyEricsson, my bet is you have MicroSD card, not M2. But then again if you use SonyEricsson, you have M2, not MicroSD.
And the most important feature to me - Samsung has 8-16gb memory (+microSD), SonyEricsson has 0-0gb (+ memory cards).
So, what do we have in the end?
Sammy is more expensive and will arrive sooner. By the time SE shows up, I think they'll have a similar price (Samsung being a bit more expensive I guess).
To me Samsung has an advantage if you plan to use it as a media player, SonyEricsson is for you if you've been using their phones and already have accessories that you don't want to go to waste.
This is my personal opinion.
