I want to buy this phone in preorder, but dimensity 7300 class soc is not for me, also i heard it lacks av1 hardware dec, i would happily paid extra 50 euros more for dimensity 8300 or 8400, poco x6/x7 pro with this chips is very popular because of this chip. I hope they will release higher version with stereo speakers.

If the camera wasn't such a mess it could be decent. How can they say it's "mature" and that colors have some pop when it's completely oversaturated, overly bright garbage? This reminds me of what the S23 Ultra camera looked like, just even worse. It baffles me how the camera gets ANY praise. It's often oversharpened, too.

1: Your 4k is compressed, filtered garbage, so there's no way of being able to grade your video yourself.
2: Most microSD cards aren't fast enough to actually write long enough for meaningful 4k
3: Video editing is a nightmare on phones
4: MicroSD cards are much more prone to corruption which could lead to the loss of a project
5: Photos will look like garbage
6: Connecting directional or lav mics are a nuisance on phones, compatibility is iffy, and it may make actually holding the phone for video cumbersome.

Just got mine and boy am I happy with this purchase. I got the white one (with a pair of free earbuds) and it's lovely. It's much better and smoother than my previous CMF Phone 1. Agreed, the modularity has somewhat been reduced even more than with the first gen (as it already was nowhere near as modular as a Fairphone for example) but edges are much smoother, it's slightly thinner while not going extreme at that. Till now the software runs smoothly without braking any records but plenty enough. The rest is something that I will discover in the coming days.

This phone looks really cool, I'd like to have it, but I already have a phone so it's never going to happen. With a perfume you can wear a different one every day, but if you buy a phone, you're stuck with it for a long time. Damn you life!

Lister, 10 May 2025Working in media production and using a phone for pictures and videos? Bruh Nothing wrong with that, phones are way good enough for working professionally with video production. That is basically the only usecase I can see that would ever need sdcard support. But if you need sdcard this badly just buy a phone that got support for it instead if screaming that all phones should have it!!

Anonymous, 09 May 2025Should have had OIS via main camera. Also a faster SoC. And a 12 MP UW cam. And 12/512 GB as... moreso you wanted CMF to release a $650 phone instead of the $280 phone they did?

you can't make a phone with those specs and price it at $280

This phone could have been nearly perfect with OIS on main cam and good stereo speakers. they could include these and make the price a little more (like 20-25$) and everyone would like it even more.

I would seriously consider a nothing phone after i tried cmf phone 1 and felt the smooth and lightness of nothingOS on that budget phone. I like the cmf phones designs, and i like that the new one is thin and slender. If they added OIS, good stereo speakers and a better chip (like sd 7+ gen3) and trimmed down the bezels a little more, that would be a phone i would buy, even at 400$

I live in a country where internet connection is slow and there are no reliable cloud storage options. Most foreign sites require vpn. Cloud storage simply is not an option for me. And I'm sure this is the case with alot of people in asia and india and middle east.

So hard drives in general are the choice of many people for storing their things.

Who buys an 8mp ultrawide camera these days? They need 4 times the pixels as a standard lens to resolve the same amount of detail as it is. Even Apple are slowly catching onto the fact they are great creative tools for panoramas & interiors, but I bet this one is not even gifted wiuth the software to produce an ultrawide panorama anyway…

I like the idea of Nothing/Cmf but their products . . worse than the main brands in basically every way so I didn't know why anyone would buy. Nothing? No reason to buy.

Pedzio, 09 May 2025Jeez, these people are young i think. Sd card slot is a very good and in a LOT of cases a must... moreI've just been using cloud storage for the past 8 years as my only main storage for my phone. Pay for 5tb of the stuff that has my phone n watch 24/7 backed up. Backs up all videos and pictures in 10 bit raw and haven't ever had an issue uploading either (in the UK, were currently ripping out all Huawei tech so regressed in Tele communications and connection stability/speeds)

Also was using a usb dongle back since 2017 and again, no issues, it actually saved my headphones/cable/jack port in the past (when pulled it disconnects at the dongle to jack, not jack to jack port). A mates dog jumped up to say hello when met up with him , my phone had a jack and the dog damaged the cable on the headphones AND the jack port by catching the cable.

The need for MicroSD and jack is a very very small use case now with digital storage and improvements to wireless technologies, I do understand people just liking something saved physically or some jobs (in a role where you're away a lot/low signal area/moving LOTS of data) that require it (for 99% of everyone it's not required).

I bought this phone today and have also configured it to my liking. I prefer stock / near stock Android OS and avoid Custom UI. So, this phone works well for me. Also, the phone comes with a 33W charger and Type-C to Type-C cable and a clear case / back cover too. Though I preferred the Nothing Phone 3a I opted to buy this CMF Phone 2 Pro instead as 3a doesn't ship with a charger or back cover. Having used CMF Phone 2 Pro for a day, I feel it is worth the price, though I don't know if it will last long enough to get 3 OS upgrades, as phones with Mediatek SoCs tend to break down faster. I am not a gamer nor do I take photos often, so this phone suits me fine.
