In all fairness though, the SD888 can still pack quite a punch for a 4 year old chipset. But it's definitely nearing that cusp between "fast enough" vs "could be faster". By 2026, the 888 will def be outdated, where either the 8G1 or 8G2 takes its place as the baseline minimum for "fast enough".

I've said this in an old thread before, but I hold the opinion that certain old flagship chips serve as the baseline minimum for fast performance. In between 2019-2022, it was the SD855. And from 2022-2025, it was the SD888.

HOWEVER, is an excellent replacement of SD 7 Gen 3 or the Dimensity 7400

And FAR BETTER than the Helio or UNISOC crap.

Screen ratio never said, too bad when you have the device in hands.
You could even measure the screens dimensions, and write the results. This way, ppl who care about screens dimensions to chose a tablet could know the dimensions of their screens, not just this stupid inchy diagonal!!! Isn't that amazing?

Old Snapdragon better choice than modern unoptimized mediatek. I'd argue old sd888 is faster than dimensity 8300 in gaming, like warzone mobile and car x street.

I was expecting this to be unusable with all well-known thermal problems SD888 has, but Infinix somehow managed to keep the tablet cool and without loss in performance. Impressive work, even if it's an older chipset.

However, it's far from a gamer tablet. Maybe a daily-driver for people in offices or casual use.

Alright, but how did they manage to launch a device with SD 888 in 2025?

For the past two years there wasn't a single device with that SoC? I understand this might be Malaysia/(?)-exclusive launch and the number of units produced might be a bit on the lower side, but I'm still very curious where and how they got the chips for this.

Also, OnePlus Pad 2 is missing in the charging speed comparison table.

No stovetop on the back to fry eggs is disappointing for a 2021 egg fryer SoC.
No buy 😢 Samsung is to blame. I will be protesting outside Xiaomi HQ. OnePlus could have avoided this.
