I think Im pretty much convinced on this phone. There is also a good article review about the N96 that I was reading, it talks about the good design and functionality.
check it here:

Bakhti, 04 Oct 2008Kal, again, by no means do I say that N96 is a perfection, Nokia could have done better, and I... moreI totally agree with what you said. I've been a reader of GSMarena for over two years now and never attempted to even read another website's review since no other website is this professional. With N96 and N81's reviews, however, they went too emotional, in my opinion. I disagree with you saying that they should post their opinions. Professionals study and observe things regardless of their opinions, that's why they're called professionals. I hope this never happens again.
I'm getting this phone tomorrow. Can anyone tell me if there are any firmware updates for it in the Middle East?
can u plz tell me how to keep the mobile at Full screen even vertically?
Excellent phone but why is the battery so poor? I charge mine every other day. I had the N95 before and the battery was awesome on that phone? Any ideas on how I can preserve this? Should I buy a new battery or buy another Nokia phone battery that is compatible? If the latter, which phone battery?
Regarding it freezing, mine used to freeze when I bought it initially but the shop dealer told me simply to ensure all applications are closed down properly after usage. Check by looking at the menu and you will know what is open as you will see a blue circle on the right hand corner of the icon still opened. Also you can check via task manager to see what is open. This should stop all freezing. It did for me!!
They keep knocking the N81's looks over the N95's I have always liked the N81 and 96's looks over the N95.
update the firmware and all ur probs r gone!!!!guys learn how 2 use nokia n 96 b4 sayn tings!!
The n96 is great the batry is ok and there is no perfect fone if u think there is any post it let us see
N96....got mine a month now, free on a premuim contract, if i had paid the fould language rule would definately be broken. 6 main concerns why i think the n96 16g is not what its made out to be..
1) battery life....i want my htc back here, i cant even go an 8 hour day without needing to recharge, mabye thats why nokia added a car charger to the kit?
2) slow and freezes...seriously? whats up with this? a premuim phone and i have to constanly reboot? up to 3 times a day?
3) camera button..ide better leave this one alone..it sucks
4) exposed camera lens...you guys really couldnt make the lens recessed to avoid scrathes could you?
5) keypad...looks cheap, feels cheap, is cheap..opened the rear cover, made in China, no suprise.
6) distortion - try the speaker phone on loud..ahhh? say again? what was that..give up use it normally.
Sending it back...asked for the samsaung inno...whatver. Hope it just works this time round..thats the last time i get a phone cause it "sounds great"
i spoke with nokia they say that by september next year(2009) thier will be a new n96 enhanced call n96 plus which will be more better than the n96
l bought n96 1 week ago but its been sometimes crashing and freezing that makes me crazy and it sometimes works so slowly so l would like to buy samsung innov8 when l bought n96 because same features and more cheaper than n96 l regret at this time.l wish bought samsung innov8 if anybody listen to me buy samsung innov8
damn it that day
I loved my N95 though it wasn't perfect and in fact its screen stopped working after about 17 months of owning it. I hated Nokia Maps but loved using Tom Tom mobile with external GPS receiver when driving as that was so much faster and better than Nokia Maps. I upgraded to the N96 2 weeks ago and after having it for a week I was absolutely disgusted with it. It didn't seem to do anything better than the N95 while the downgraded CPU would be useless for Tom Tom. When installed on the N96, Tom Tom is a million times slower than it ever was on the N95 and won't ever work for more than a couple of minutes on the N96 before it crashes. All that with the latest FW. After that week I took the N96 back to the Carphone Warehouse in London and got an Iphone instead. Sure, the camera on that is no match for that of the N95 or N96 but even so, it completely rapes the N96. After owning most of Nokia's flagship phones over the years, I take the N96 as a complete insult. This is something that could and should have been so much better and advanced than the N95, and instead it's a sorry excuse for a smartphone. Don't bother with it. If you're expecting it to be better than the N95, you'll be as disappointed as I am.
hmmm...just wondering why Nokia would blemish such great track record of NSeries especially the N9? series with N96. shameful.
Does no one think that the "Kings New Clothes" review is incredibly harsh and negative? Its all "This is appalling" or "this is horrible" and "We don't like this"
As much as I have to say it.. but I am a Nokia Fan converting to Samsung O.o this is a new experience for me but with the INNOV8's features u can't really go past it.
I have spent 2mths comparing phones... Samsung's INNOV8 seems to be the best phone in the world for 2008.
