The manufacturers can only make phones.. But only YOU n ur little IQ can determine how smart that phone is gonna be and how its all gonna add up.. As for me.. The N97 in my hand is doing fine, juz anticipating for future firmware updates n 3rd party apps makers to spring a few surprises along the way.. Thats wat makes my day.. c",)
U loud ppl simply write off N96 coz of ur first bad impression of it without living & breathing with it.. I've been following Nokia's flagship models since the N90..N93..skipped the 93i.. N95..N958gb..N96.. then now N97.. Right now i'm having both the 96 & 97.. Still I wouldn't write off the 96 juz yet.. with Mobitubia (downloading of Youtube Vidz) Coreplayer (best solution for multimedia playback),Walking Hotspot (share my gprs over wifi to up to 5 other devices) wats with the standard Tv out, 16gb onboard plus my 8gb microSD its THE ULTIMATE PMP.. Right now I'm waiting for these apps to be available on the 97 then i'll have the perfect phone..for me anyway.. juz my 2 cents..
JOhn, 18 Jun 2009Urrggghh... this even makes the iphone look nice...Overall this phone is better than iPhone. iPhone has its advantages (touch interface implementation), but this is it. As for the rest N97 is on par and better.
Joshua, 18 Jun 2009To andrew...i'm from singapore and i tried the omnia hd...yes it is a good phone i have to adm... moreto joshua.. I am also from sg. I knoe the way singaporean look at nokia and samsung (both popular in sg). Just one thing to highlight ur comment.. Nokia is made in china not built in europe. But bmw is still made in germany. u can't compare phone with cars. My personal experience: N96 = crap. how can u explain that? 6300: terrible battery life ( same as most of samsung phs).
[deleted post]Jet is boring after 5mins
N97 is sweet
OmniaHD is also sweet
pee-yaj, 18 Jun 2009How did various smartphones changed the mobile landscape., 1. Nokia N95- the first all-in-one... moreE72 is far superior to any Blackberry phones overall. N97 does combine entertainment with business as well.
Any possibility that gsmarena can notify people on the availability of handsets on specific networks, e.g the nokia N97, which network will it available and what colour.
IMO, the D-pad on the left was meant for gaming purpose.
all the N-Gage phones have their D-pad positioned on the left side of the phone
The wait was for nothing. This phone is so last year (when it was announced). Good phone? Yes. Then. Not now.
How did various smartphones changed the mobile landscape.,
1. Nokia N95- the first all-in-one multimedia entertainment device, with 5mp camera and wifi
2. iPhone 2G- changed how a user interacts with a device, multitouch and a great UI
3. iPhone 3G - App Store, great impact in digital distrubution.
4. HTC G1- the 1st Android phone, open-source system.
5. Omnia HD- first phone to play and capture HD.
6. Palm Pre- integration with multitouch and physical keyboard, Synergy
7. Blackberrys- Great e-mail client and enterprise support.
Nokia N97- (fill in the blanks)
Nokia should hurry up! The race is heating, and based in the reviews of 3G S, Apple iPhone is already strolling in the park. Go, Nokia!
zaheed, 18 Jun 2009this phone can be described in one line, "Jack of ll trades but master of none!"
well i had m... more@Zaheed,
LOL, well said.."Jack of all trades, but master of none".
There has been a very strong debates in capacitive vs resistive TS in M-R.
Three more big Touch to come, stay tuned.
To andrew...i'm from singapore and i tried the omnia hd...yes it is a good phone i have to admit it but do you know that samsung is well known for rubbish battery life? Their battery died out faster than any brands from personal experience...yes samsung is trying to be the best but they are still on the way, nokia is a conservative company and they are sticking on their current specs and compare when did the 97 was announced? Late last year? And when did the omnia hd was? This actually gives samsung to spice up their hd. It feels good to have the best pack inside the phone but think again it is still a give and take thing... And nokia being a european company they always test their products under stringent conditions and different climates...u can take a look at german build cars, they are so well engineered and well built if i compare a jap or a korean car side by side the german car will still stand out in terms of built and sturdiness...and to end off if u are thinking of choosing the writing option for your text messages or your notes it hp totally rubbish as it doesnt work at all compared to 97 or 5800 and it is a lot taller
N-97 is just great. It is surely an iphone killer. It offers you great speed, stability, robustness.Atleast i liked the looks--just great work from NOKIA.
Just dont go for looks. In the end it is the durability of the phone that matters, how long it stays with you that matters and nokia has always been the best in it.
this phone can be described in one line, "Jack of ll trades but master of none!"
well i had my 5800(hungary) for 5 months and the screen got very poorly scratched by day to day use!(i used the given cover religiously)
and then i figured out resistive is not for me! it's just my personal opinion!
nokia has another big phone planned in their rod map! and maybe if we are lucky it will be the flagship of eseries! planning to wait untill that to see if nokia did something out of the box; and then and only then i'll replace my e75!
this year i bought 3 sets n79,5800,and e75! and in my opinion eseries is the most user friendly and the classiest and the most durable; second is the nseries!
[deleted post]nice to see in ur reply the words 'iphone' and 'pathetic' are side by side
