Nothing has stopped it from implementing a better camera and it beats me why you are celebrating it's relativelyy mediocre camera. All the improvements on the iphone camera are already on the N97 and the N97 even offers more settings. It's undoubtedly clear you haven't tested an N series camera phone coz if you had done so you would notice how mediocre the iphone's camera is. But then again it ain't your fault!!!!
Anonymous, 04 Jul 2009GSM Arena will not knit pick on the iphone's limited camera features like it does with the N97... moreStop farting supposed facts. The N97 is not a camera phone but a social network oriented device hence the focus on active widgets. The N82 and N86MP are the last 2 camera oriented Nokia devices.
Thus your whole comment is devoid of logic........

Do you know how much video calling would cost through your carrier? You can do it for free on your computer at home, with better quality. So please, you are 1 out of a million user who needs video calling on their phone, ok. So please stop already. Millions of users are happy browsing the web with their iphones. I am sorry that you are not. I hope you are happy with your PDA and I wish you the best =) I hope you can be happy for us as well =)

The iphone's review will focus more on internet and music and the 3rd party apps, because that is what the iphone is all about.
You cannot use the same standards of critiquing a sports car and a SUV.

OMG!! How could all 100% of broken phones get seen by him? Nokia must be wrong somewhere so much of crap phones!
Yeah, im also shocked why some eye doctors only see 100% eye cases everyday.
"eye" doctors are called optometrists

"Gsmarena complained that the N97 camera lacks smile, blink detection and the like, unsurprisingly it went on to praise the iphone's camera. Now that's a joke. The iphone's camera is nowhere near the N97's and it lacks so many settings that it's flaws should equally have been mentioned as well. But no, they even went on to praise the camera. What a laugh!!!!"
Now the point GSM Arena was making is that camerawise the N97 is pretty much exactly the same as evry high end Nokia since the N95, where other manufacturers have moved on well past that point Nokia hasn't.
On the other hand the iPhone has upped the megapixels, added autofocus and auto white levels etc, added touch to focus, white levels etc and added video recording with the same auto and touch to focus features, these are substantial improvements over earlier models.
Now if anyone is showing bias, it's you, go cry into your Nokia pillowcase.

"iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS comply with the safety standard for Safety of Information Technology Equipment, IEC 60950-1.
This safety standard has been adopted by many countries and is referred to as the following:
UL 60950-1 in the United States
CSA 60950-01 in Canada
EN60950-1 in Europe
AS/NZS 60950:1 in Australia and New Zealand."
So the standards bodies are pathetic?

The 3G S is not a ve... moreWhat does NOT seem to have soaked into the dull and torpid sponginess of what passes for your 'brain', is that if you make derogatory comments to me then don't expect a timid response.
If you can't stand the heat in the kitchen, then simply walk away. You think i will let you call me names and expect me to smile at you???. Think again, dolt!!!.
Next time, engage your pea brain slowly instead of exposing your ignorance to a worldwide audience. OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Flames, 03 Jul 2009Stop throwing your toys out of your pram!!!. Even if you aren't from an English speaking backg... moreYes, I have understood what you have said. Now cut your childish remarks. The 3G S is not a very big upgrade from the 3G. They have said that the 3G has lacked many settings and features and seeing as the camera interface on the new 3G S is practically identical with minor upgrades, they didn't really have to mention it again. Being the phone it is, obviously people like you already knew that it lacked alot of settings and features. The N97 on the other hand is a new handset, new everything when compared to the previous N96. People may have wanted to know things like if it had simile detection, etc. As for praising the 3G S camera, they have compared it to the previous 3G model so I don't see no reason to praise it if it is an improvement. I didn't see any praising of the camera as they compared it with other phones like the LG ones nor did they say that it was a very good camera.
Now cut out your stupidity and childishness. If you can't, don't even bother to reply. Someone ought to teach you some respect boy.
Curiously nobody mentioned that 3G video call is missing on the new iphone: I love sometime to video-call with my children and I do believe its one of the most value adding feature of the 3G connection. On the opposite side, I really hate to surf on the internet with such a small device (compared to a 8.9 inch netbook dispay), and I only use a PDA if I need to bid on eBay (for which there is a dedicated application available for free, which is much more efficient that doing it trought Safari), so why people stupidly care so much about internet browsing with a PDA?????????????????

Even if you aren't from an English speaking background, it helps to try and understand what has been said instead of mouthing off nonsense just like you have done. Let me break it down for you slowly so that your pea brain can take it in~~~ Gsmarena complained that the N97 camera lacks smile, blink detection and the like, unsurprisingly it went on to praise the iphone's camera. Now that's a joke. The iphone's camera is nowhere near the N97's and it lacks so many settings that it's flaws should equally have been mentioned as well. But no, they even went on to praise the camera. What a laugh!!!!
FYI, Gsmarena fell out with Nokia some time back, i have forgoten the incident which caused it. All i'm saying is if something is bad then they should point it out regardless who made the phone in question, but i guess that's too much for a mental midget like you to understand. Now go outside and play with your toys. OK!!!!!!!!!
Anonymous, 03 Jul 2009oh hey P%nm welcome back, sorry to burst your bubble but Apple officially admitted the overhea... moreApple havent officially commented on the heat issues, the forum post is over 12 months old and originally referred to the 3G as well, and is purely precautionary. Any mobile phone producer (or indeed any technology) always states the minimum and maximum RECOMMENDED temperatures to keep your gadgets at.
Having said that there is clearly a problem with a minority of sets, particularly the white one, although it cant be widespread or dangerous otherwise a recall would have taken place, (a blow as i was going to upgrade to a white 3GS from my black 3G, and now i may stay with the black version). I have used a 3GS in a shop and it really is a whole lot faster, and once ive sold my old 3G the price of upgrade is not prohibitive.
Apple have sold around 25 Million iPhones worldwide, unless all these people are idiots and are still secretly nokia/sony/samsung users, it would be a stretch to call the iPhone "garbage". Regards

Maybe not as fast with 2 hands, but I definitely can, and it would be the same for any phone of the iphone's size. The iphone's call volume is not one of the best, but it's ok. People obviously have been using it to make phonecalls. And it's even better when you're using a bt earpiece. I didn't understand you when you said something about a missing icon for common tasks. There is the home screen that can fit 20 icons. You can place your frequently used apps on that screen. As for sms archive, I don't see anything wrong with it's screen format. I actually find it very easy and friendly. You also mentioned missing stereo speakers. Sorry, but I really wouldn't use ANY phone for loud music. You also complained about not being able to turn off auto rotate. Now why would I even turn that off?
You are knit picking. Common sense will tell you that we all have different needs on a phone. If the iphone is not for you, then go somewhere elsle.

Anonymous, 02 Jul 2009In the review you forgot to mention that the touch to focus also adjusts the light levels and ... moreI totally agree with you. I don't think there is any phone out there w/ everything that we want on it. But for a lot of people, what the iphone has is practically enough.
