i've been waiting for more than 6 months for this phone but when it released i'm very disappointed at one thing:
give us the potrait qwerty onscreen keypad for god sake! and the full screen landscape qwerty keypad is also sux! imagine when you're using messenger to chat.. i'll buy this phone right away if samsung fix the keypad problem..
i'm an omnia i900 user and i'm so proud of it, i even recommended many friends to buy omnia
other than that this phone is owning! so please samsung..
Wow. This is the first time i've ever commented on a review/preview. I finally found where the 'comments' are. Anyways, did you guys notice that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages by a landslide?
Can I install the softwares of 5800 and N97 on this phone? All of them? Thanks

Singapore finally launch this model today 15 Aug. Got the phone the the software version is I8910DXIG1 (software version date 02/07/2009 and not i8910XXIG2 as suggested in http://samsungi8910omnia.com/firmware-update-i8910xxig2-audio-codec-fix-released/ that which shown the version with AAC fix.
Had try to run Phone Software updated from PC Studio but was prompted "Phone software updater does not support the connected model".
I can't find in the latest review from gsmarena on the firmware version of the retail unit they tested, so wondering if it is the same version as mine or already come with updated firmwre.
Omnia HD successor:
1GHz ARM Cortex CPU
Symbian Foundation OS (=higher resolution)
12MP still camera
Non-duplicated frames in HD-video-recording
Slightly bigger screen (?)
+ everything else the original Omnia HD had
decent capabilities, ie imaging and resolution (obviously)
well no wonder it lags in the image gallery==> cpu sucks!!
still looking for the next one...
From my past experience I cannot use Samsung Pc studio and Nokia PC suite on the same machine. Does this problem still exists or do we have a way around this nonsense?
Well I use the e71 and would love having this phone for my mrs. She does all her backup on my laptop.
Anonymous, 04 Aug 2009Most modern phones that support MicroSDHC standard i.e. 4GB+ will support upto 32GB. Obviously... moreYep, but 32GB will be the *real* limit. 64GB+ uses a new tech, namely XC. I'm uncertain of if firmware updates can make support to microSDXC-cards.
Bharat, 04 Aug 2009It is already available in Mumbai(HeeraPanna shopping center) and costs around Rs.26000.den why it is not dere at samsung india website

This is important to me as it must fully replace my mp3 player while being able to make nice shots too. Besides that the i8910 is the better phone, of course. Anyway, thanks for the helpful remark :-)
HD waiter, 02 Aug 2009i have a qus':
in the key features you said that the micro sd memory card can go up till 32 G... moreMost modern phones that support MicroSDHC standard i.e. 4GB+ will support upto 32GB. Obviously 32GB MicroSDHC is not available yet so all manufacturer's will officially announce support for 16GB. Otherwise they would be sued if 32GB didn't work but from a technical point of view, there is no reason it won't work 32GB.
It's no different when 16GB cards wasn't available and manufacturers officially say 8GB works but people discovered no problems at all with 16GB when they were released.
Segev, 02 Aug 2009The Omnia HD got 3 diffrent video resolutions:

If it's perfectly smooth at D1 (standard definition) then I don't really mind too much it's not perfect at HD resolution. Who is say this phone won't have further firmware improvements when HD recording becomes a reality rather than a bit gimmicky.
Hi all , Is it Available in India ,i mean the HD model coz no updates are there in Samsung india website
