I don't understand why I can't buy a wristphone with just the basic features like mobile phones had 10 years ago; ability to call and be called, sms, and clock, alarm etc.
Give it a black and white screen to and it could actually be small enough to call it a watch.
What a great idea launching this at the peak of a world recession! Brilliant.
The reason why it's got HSDPA so that you can connect it to you laptop via bluetooth and surf the internet thru the lappy, like what I'm doing now with my sony W910i (my own 3G dongle)
What's that text-to-speech function all about? What it means? It wasn't even mentioned in the review, eventhough it's on the specsheet. Someone help me dumb ass with this, please!
Anonymous, 10 Aug 2009how to charge it?Yeah... how to charge it? Maybe it's that five goldy pills is that charging outlet? If that so, water resistance is not possible yet.
boom, 09 Aug 2009feels like turning back to them old all-in-one CASIO watch!!!!Casio watch, lol I so had one of those. Was so salivating over this one but after this review i think i might hold off until they have defined the genre a little.
I would rather by a tampon phone! They sell those in Italy.
they shoud have gave it a james bond theme with a laser shootin out to cut thru walls and stuff they wud have solt loads then blood!!!!!
biigest problem is that in maximum one year of wearing, the wrist belt must be changed. they mut make the wrist from metal, because i don't imagine where can you buy spare wrist belts for this model wich don't have universal wrist belts model like classic watches. you must take it fom lg service i think, but this is a mess, will take years to bring in lg service belts for this model. practically,in the first day when you buy this device, you must go to th srvice to command 2-3 pairs of belts,to be sure
This review is missing two important keys: signal reception and battery life. Both will determine whether this watch phone is really practical when in use.
Cool .. but it defeat the whole purpose of phone. I think this is only for rich ppl to use as spare ph
wearing this phone will make you scream :
"hey look at my wrist, i'm wearing this 900 euro watchphone, i'm a rich man and i rule, baby!"
now, if only i had this phone few years ago, i'd finish all my high-school exams with big "A+"
hey GSMarena, for one of the first real mainstream attempts, it's a pretty feature-rich phone. i don't see any phones even DOUBLE the size with HALF the features of this one. and for the screen size which even you say is already too big? too many UI gimmicks will just make it worse. don't expect trigonometry from a kindergardener folks, it does basic algebra pretty well.
Seriously, looks like on of the cheap chinese gsm watches for 100 € thats flooding the market. For 900 i expect a must better looking wristband than that plastic leather lookin ****.
it is a great idea for a portable phone... on your wrist.
however in ths case- the smart thing to do would have been to make the touch screen resistive, rather than capacitive.
this would have given people with larger fingers the opportunity to better utilize the telephony features.
LG has made some nice resistive touch screens before- namely the Xenon.
since my own fingers are a bit on the bulky side, this phone is sadly not for me- though i really would have loved to have played with it myself. i am envious GSMARENA
