Guys, I think you are missing the point of what these phones represent. They are designed for the uber-rich, who have so much money that buying one of these things is like me popping to the corner shop to buy my morning newspaper. You can guarantee that they will have a device with the latest gadgetry, but these babies are for showing off at the casino, or racetrack etc...

These phones aint about fancy functions.

Its like bying an expensive rolex to match you suit.

Its all about showing that you can afford it and nothing else.

ANd yes the new iphone 3gs is cool, but wound turn any heads, cause everybody and his sister has one these days, with a good subscribtion, they are even cheaper than my N86

If I'm a rich, I think showing off the latest iPhone 3GS will get more heads turned then holding any of these phones.

I mean, seriously, the designs on these look like phones from the early 2000. And leather? Common... If I paid that much for a phone, I want it to bling as much as I can! Make a phone from a solid gold bar or something...

Very funny and interesting review. I must agree, you really have to look at it as if it's more than a mobile phone. And as I've seen, going for the Vertu rather than the TAG Heuer or Goldvish brings you a little more functionality. After all, what good is any phone in the world if the UI is clumsy and difficult to use.

I would sure like to have this excuisite build quality on an Nokia N900, ofcourse with stainless steel rather than gold, and that saphire crystal glass means no screen protector. by the way, is it possible to make a touch screen covered by that saphire crystal glass ?

Lol!! For the price of this phone I'd rather fly to Korea, have a good time and get me a Samsung W880 AMOLED 12M and make it back home in time for breakfast!!!!

These are some of the most ridiculous things you could possibly buy. Sure they are made of great materials and with great craftsmanship and all, but in all honesty they are almost completely useless. Why not just buy a gold bar and hold it up to your ear everywhere you go? These are retarded phones for really dumb people; They look really stupid and any idiot stupid enough to buy and use one deserves all of the funny looks he gets. There is no envy there, just pity.

These stuffs r good for drooling, but not for buying. bcoz u dont get any extra technologic for the havoc premium u pay, so whats the whole point. If u took at luxury cars u go get extra stuffs for every extra penny, be it in terms of more engine power, more speed, more comfort whatever..... but the gadget scenario it doesnt happen that way. i would prefer to go out and buy jewellery with similiar money,if i ever could. Thats what i feel, personal opinion... thats all
And, btw, i found another similiar article here at http://digitizor.com/?p=1094 ,its worth checking out. drool by drool :P

those called "limited editions" that really cost a lot are for that new rich man/woman, generally with no family and young fellows that do not value the money him/her own. If it were a special car at least, it would increase its value with the years pessing by, but a cellphone is pure ignorance. NOBODY will say "wow, that's a cool phone man", after they ask how much it cost the owner will just hear "nice.." but his/her buddy will be thinking "that's just stupid".

3rd nd most of all you can buy almost 10 pieces of 8800 carbon or gold arte collections rather than this pricey handset...
