Nice to see that prices of other WM devices are going down - compared to blood sucking HTC. If I hadnt bought Omnia2, this would definitely be my No1 choice. Just held it in my hands in the shop. Looks nice, build qual. fine, just the materials used could have been more "expensive". (I cant understand the manufacturers that in 2010 still use metal-imitation plastic (glossy frame). Acer with Android looked far better in therms of this, but pitty that its not WM powered. Oh, and lack of resource hungry UI is a definite wellcome - phone is even more snappier. In the end - one who needs HTC Manilla/Sense can/should cook it into ROM. Cheers!

cara.j, 10 Jan 2010I'd like to benchmark my touch pro2 against the acer neotouch, where may I download transforme... moreThat speed of that phone is insane.Touch Pro 2 has the same processor as Diamond 2. In similar benchmarks with coreplayer, its even beating Touch HD2. just look here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zsNI-kjz4s&feature=player_embedded

amazing. to the contras: WM6.5 is an open OS, if any Software is missing, u can just download it from the WWW or ur PC. So far there I dont see really big contras excluding the camara.

i just read the review... its a great phone for the price... but i am wondering how does the neotouch do "tv-out"...

would the tv-out show the exact same thing as the phone?

if its just a standard cable it'd be easy and cheap to buy...
and it would be really worth it...

What Windows Mobile lack is always the poor visibility under direct sunlight.

takis, 10 Nov 2009this is because of WM limitation (65K colours)..I do realize its a WM limitation.... however Android phone with snapdragon is also only at 65k screen (X10 Sony Ericsson)

I'm wondering if its the processor's deal also?

Why is it that this type of PDA/phone is always crippled by a basically worthless amount of memory, yet there are dedicated handsets out there that are not as well spec'd that have at least half this amount of memory on board. yet another waste of time with windows mobile on board. think I will go back to a bare bones mobile and a umpc!!!

The device itself looks ugly. On top of that, an OS that has not been customized. Having been pampered with custom UI from Htc and Samsung, its difficult to see how people will spend a good deal of money on an object thats just plain ugly. Acer has never been known for good design in the pc segment and the same continues in mobiles... Just cheap handsets with all bundled features... looks more like a cheap Nokia in the making...
