please stop complaining about 720p playback or recording.
for starters, this screen is meant for dvdrip playback, PERIOD. 720p is great on my 24" monitor for gods sake, not a little mobile phone.

and 720p recording has only come to proper digital cameras in the last little while so it will be some time before we get the same quality from a mobile phone people.
just like the stupid MP race, its not just about the number, QUALITY plays a HUGE part!

u 720p playback people crack me up, hahaha!

Vendetta, 12 Nov 2009A few questions: 1.) is the screen glass (i.e. REAL glass)? 2.) does it even FIT in a pocket... morenormally when you put the phone into ur jeans front pocket, the length of the ph is an issue, not the width. (no need to mention thickness since nowadays phones are slim enough). And this ph length is abt 120, i ph is 116 and samsung omniaHD is 123. you get the idea whether this ph can fit into the pocket.

            A few questions:
1.) is the screen glass (i.e. REAL glass)?
2.) does it even FIT in a pocket? I'd be afraid to sit down.
3.) is it safe to guess that ROM upgrades or WinMo7 will address the IE no-pinch and/or the Opera no-Flash issues?
            and lastly,
4.) will it come to North America on bands compatible with AT&T 3G?

Looks good, it`s compact, powerfull, a little too big for my tastes BUT I`m worry about one single aspect: How does the battery pack (1230mAh) perform having in mind those specifications?

Maybe strange question but can you wear it comfortably in your front pocket in your jeans or pants? That's where I put my smartphone (samsung blackjack) all the time.
                Someone already tried that out?

I definitely prefer a video of the unboxing. Photos are nice too of course but the video gave you a better impression of how it actually looks and feels. Photos show a clear view but it's not how it looks that's important IMO.

This is an amazing phone, if you are deluded by thinking iPhone is the best phone, good for you. No need to be illogical about the fact this phone has set the bar a lot higher than any other phone in the market.
There's no doubt there will be better phones in future but so far HTC has done a great job.

math, 11 Nov 2009It says preview, not review. It should have been a REview instead of a PREview since the phone has been out for a few weeks.

I am totally confused with all the phones that HTC has released since the beginning of the year, which one is which? Does anyone feel the same as me?
These phone companies has driven the consumers crazy with 2000 new phones coming out each year, and I can say 70% of them has 90% similar functions (the remaining 10% has insignificant differences and characters)
Now I've heard a company called Emblaze is going to release a phone called Else in the end of November, it is suppose to be very different from all the phones available in the market right now. That's the thing, it's different. First of all, it has a totally different UI, fan-shaped, and it is designed so the users can control and operate the phone in the easiest and most convenient way.
That's something interesting and worth paying attentions to! Manufacturers, have some heart and think about something really creative.

Its just fun to see all the flames about this "crappy" phone.
I have the phone and I say its amazing.

If you have anything against WM then you should try this device and it will take all your negative feelings away.

There might be alot of phones with better specs as in camera quality etc but there aren't alot (maby even none) that can match the user interface, feedback and responce that this device gives me.

And who cares about 720p+ playback?
                                    If I want to watch a 720p+ movie I'll do it on a 40" HD-TV.
What I do care about is watching youtube vids and that is a real treat on the 4,3" screen.

Same goes for webbrowsing and alot of other things, as I said the UI and the feedback it gives to the user is great.

                                        GSMArena Team,
I suggest it is better in video. I mean the un-boxing. But, both should be the best.
I can't believe it that it doesn't have a front camera for video calls. Big mistake. I am still waiting for my Omnia II.
