I bought mine from Dell a couple weeks back, so unbranded generic 5230. A couple differences between my retail box and the description of this review. Mine did not come with alternative (blue & pink) back covers. However it did come with a USB cable and a 4GB microSD card, both of which are much more useful to me than a couple spare backs.
As to the music player questions below, I am not sure how you bring up the keypad to help search a list, but I did notice that if you use the scroll bar on the right side (rather than finger flicking the main list) as you scroll it will show you the first letter of songs you are in. So if you need to scroll quickly to the (for example) "R" songs, scroll down the side scroll bar and watch the on screen letters to know when you have reached the "R" section.

Can any one please tell me whether there is any way to get the keypad while in the music library menu so that i can search for a particular track... please reply...

i bought this phone a 4 days ago. its a impresve phone. i love it. a better camera. its 2 megapixel but looks like 3 or 4 megapixel.great quality w 16 m colors.

From the write up:
"Your music library is automatically sorted by artist, album, genre and or composer and searching tracks by gradual typing is available."
may i know how to get the keypad while in the music library to do the above said gradual typing?

My Observations :--- I am using this phone from last 2 weeks and ...I am luvin it
1.Advantages :----
--- The phone is excellent in its price range ,it is the cheapest smart phone in touch screen department
--- The camera is 2MP but it beats any 3.2 mp camera phone in the market ... hands down
--- The touch interface is amazing in the resistive touch department
--- Music player is good and produces better input quality ( the output is to the lower side )
--- The video clips ...oh my god I never thought with such cheap price I am getting the best videos ...hatts offf to Nokia
--- Surfing internet is a pleasure
--- The screen clarity and legibility beats 5800 with a huge difference
--- Compatable to view Mp4 and WMV files
--- Loads of downloadable applications
--- The battery life is excellent ... me regular web surfer, music lover and continuous speaker , the battery still lasted for complete 2 days... which is amazing
--- The organizer is best in the market
--- Have downloaded 4 java games and it supports upto 32 bits of legibillity .. which is amazing again
2.Disadvantages :----
--- The headset in the box is pathetic ... but the music player rocks with another better headset
--- speaker phone produces average noise
--- The output sound for music player is a concern ( low sound )
Overall conclusion : Just go for it ..you would not get the same specifications and satisfaction with any other touch screen phones in the market which cost more than double what this masterpiece costs ... its double value for money ...
