what about software updates?
will samsung support galaxy S??
or leave it to dry after a few months?
[deleted post]i totally agree with you they talking about iphone rip off n nearly 80% of the parts in a iphone the processor in the 3gs is a samsung spc100 while the humming bird is the spc110 even the ipad a4 processor samsung have involvement in its manufacturing cause its similar to the hummingbird processor so even if samsung made a phone tht looks like the iphone apple wont even have 1 bit of a prob cause samsung supplies them with nearly 80% of the parts 4 the iphone e.g audio chip, processor nand chips etc
Anonymous, 25 May 2010probably my next phone..but Galaxy s PRO with qwerty keyboard..ill wait for it..i wish it has ... moreThere seems to be nothing about the Galaxy S pro, I would love to have the QWERTY hardware keyboard even though I wont use it.
sam, 24 May 2010If Nokia N8 has better GPU then why are these games running laggy:
http://www.youtube.com/wa... morei dont understand how its a better gpu than this phone on the n8
according to research nokia N8 = 32-33m triangles a second
samsung galaxy S = 90 m triangles a second - N8 has nothing but the camera on this phone...
No Flash for Camera= Complete $%*$( Failed.....
But seriously, Xperia X10 can stand up to this phone, once it gets updated, save for the Screen and the ram(512MB).
But then X10 has an excellent 8MP camera, as opposed to five. What's with the excessive hype.
probably my next phone..but Galaxy s PRO with qwerty keyboard..ill wait for it..i wish it has flash for camera and a better appearance..
Skero666, 25 May 2010Nice phone, to bad that it's another iPhone ripoff...like all the touchscreen phones now days.... moreWhat exactly is the iphone ripoff, because when iphone came out no phone looked like it or it didn't look like another. The fact of the matter is iphone menu design grid is just a modified version of what palm had. The only thing that made iphone look better was the smoothness which was due to no multitasking.
Now with OS 4 they have what I call a hybrid multitasking, that requires certain things to pause while others run. remember anything new is an advancement of the old except if it's original like the capacitive screen on a phone. hmm lets see oh yes I know every mouse pad surface uses capacitive touch sensors so iphone just advanced that too.
I don't understand the comments about video recording in the review.
First gsmarena.com say: "Videos are captured in 1280 x 720 pixels resolution at 30 fps – unlike the Samsung i8910 OmniaHD and the Sony Ericsson Vivaz, which shoot videos at 24fps. The amount of resolved detail is good, noise levels are low – the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S is a worthy replacement of those pocket HD cameras."
But in the very next paragraph they say: "What's even worse is that we consistently found stuttering in all the videos we shot with the Galaxy S."
So which is it: "a worthy replacement for pocket HD cameras" or "even worse" (worse than what? they just said that video recording is good) and "constant stuttering"??
Nice phone, to bad that it's another iPhone ripoff...like all the touchscreen phones now days. iPhone was a revolution, and i don't see another company to have the same success or innovation level.
Hey there. Im from Australia and at the moment we have SE X10, HTC Desire and iPhone 3GS as our high end phones available. Im wondering whether to wait for iPhone 4G or the i9000 or go with one of the models available. Any suggestions would be great....
M sure will come loaded with android 2.2(froyo) sumtime soon..n flash support will come along..camera flash is a downer..else awesome fone..
will be even better now as the company has confirmed it will be released with 512 mb of ram..
Not for me I'm afraid.
With No Flash with the camera & No flash in the browser and No decent GPS mapping, it's pretty poor show.
If it was re-released with all of the above on it, then it would be an absolutely stonking phone.
Samsung Galaxy S, Has The Best Multi-Touch Screen Ever!
The screen on the Galaxy S is manufactured by a company named Atmel. The technical name for this display is the Atmel maXTouch, and this screen can handle up to 16 points simultaneously. It has a response time of 7 milliseconds which is 2-3 times faster than current multi-touch displays. This screen is expected to drastically limit or even eliminate miss touches, aka having your hand on the edge of the screen unknowingly.
see and compare HTC Desire & Galaxy S: http://www.frandroid.com/18526/samsung-galaxy-s-un-vrai-ecran-multi-touch/
Anonymous, 24 May 2010I am ok with 20fps, I am not gonna shoot movies with it :PWell both Galaxy S and N8 are great device, so I dont want to argue more.. But I dont like when people says N8 is crap..
Okay we should stop this useless argues..
Have a good day (or good evening), friends..!
Satz, 24 May 2010Learn what's GPU ,SoC and Application processor is.. then we can talk.First of all, Wave is not Android, while you argue Android CPU blahblah. It's Bada.
"keyword here is "WITH" , I said "GPU" without including the processor."
Do you really think just Cortex-A8 1GHz CPU can render, let's say, 10M triangles/sec? No, I don't, although it is very true that only-GPU does not work itself.
I think everyone except for you would say 89M triangles/sec is mostly GPU-powered. As you said before, same here, I AM TALKING ABOUT GPU ONLY. And I know AP, SoC, and GPU. Oh sorry, I forgot to write "GPU" at the very last sentence on last comment.
BTW, if Samsung boosts the clock of the GPU with their 45nm tech, then the theoretical spec skyrockets, doesn't it? :D
sam, 24 May 2010If Nokia N8 has better GPU then why are these games running laggy: http://www.youtube.com/wa... moreSo what do you say about video quality of Samsung Galaxy S. Its barely reach 20fps, remind you it have 1ghz cpu..? Why video quality was so worse.. I think you get the answer. So N8 also lag because it is in very early firmware..
