if i were to choose,,id prefer the sound of MEGABASS in old skul walkman,,like,w800,w810,w900,and either k750,,the mega bass of it was so stunning,,and even if you plug it into large speakers! the boom of its bass vibrating on the ground...excellent !

Obviously s.e is better than nokia,when it comes to music and camera quality,, nokia's music player sounds 'thin' and the camera was not that good,,lets face it,,to those nokia lovers.. SE to have the first shake control and track i.d. that walkman has to give or in other units of s.e...and the first to have walkmate, xenon flash. 26M TFT display of s003... S.E rules!

            i remember the times when people where acually happy with something that worked;
            for instance a phone with native flac playback support! do some of you really think that sony built in this feature without assuring proper playback quality??
            I agree, missing 3,5 mm headphone jack sucks, but i`m willing to spend some bucks on a good sony headset and 16gb micro sd card....overall, the phone itself just cost me 80 €, which is not expensive for one of the best walkman handys....
            people tend to always want more and more and dont appreciate the "little" things any more.
            Also with its kind of history (long tradition of high quality walkmen!) sony can be fully trusted. I mean: not even my ipod touch ( a dedicated mp3 player) supports flac and i spent 3 times as much for it!).
            Just think about it...

                Both brands (SE and Nokia) have phones with very good music quality. For some time it was like SE was losing its way in audio quality against brands like Nokia and Samsung which decided to put 3.5mm jacks on their phones. And people have reasons to complain about this particular feature: SE has released some phones with 3.5mm jacks, so why the step backwards?? Anyway this phone has a very good audio quality but any adaptor, no matter how good it is, will definitely affect music quality. But a good pair of headphones could save the day.
                And for the people that said Nokia phones are worse in music quality lots of people don´t realize that most Nokias have low quality headphones in their packages, just switch to a 3rd party good quality headphones and enjoy. You can adjust the equalizer to have an even better music quality (the same goes for SE).

                  Hi there, everyone seems to compare with keeping personal likes/dislikes in mind. Well..Sony has defenitely got it's advantage over Nok for audio/ picture quality & user friendly...no doubts. I used both these for a long. Yes..Nok phones are 'robust' than Sony while handling & easy to repair.

Correct me if I'm wrong... moreok,if we talking about old walkman version,just choose manual equalizer set,don't choose megabass,and it's not loads of bass. simple,and the sound still great even we don't using newest version of walkman..

I was talking about the older models with the Mega Bass preset. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume it's those models with Walkman v2.0 which seems more popular.... These newer generation W980, W705.... (with Walkman 3.0- with the Clear Bass preset and all that, right?) they weren't terribly popular were they? Saw the audio readings of a W980 some time back and it didn't look anything like a balanced output to me. It was as if an equalizer was permanently turned on- with a strong emphasis on the low end. I'll tune in later when I've personally sampled one of these... there lies the problem- nobody has one. It's raining Corbys and Chink phones out there.

Same is the case with me here. SE's joking if they're asking me to use their stupid adapter (which causes audio quality losses)with my AKG-s or Etymotics. Those cans are to hear music as it is- uncompressed- not over a lossy adapter. Most guys here don't understand it. They hear loads of bass in these mediocre SE earbuds and jump into conclusions that SE's better than Nokia in audio quality or something.
