No bluetooth headset/adapter can give you the same sonic experience a proper audiophile grade headphones can dish out over a standard 3.5mm jack. The whole reason for including FLAC support was to cater to audiophiles' tastes. That's the USP of this phone and everyone seems to forget that. Didn't you forget that the accessory you mentioned is somewhat expensive? That money would get you a great sounding entry level Sennheiser/Klipsch in-ears that would blow the bluetooth headset you mentioned out of water. Besides, the targeted audience would already possess a good pair- unless they are posers, that is.

It's simply one of Sony's many registered brand-names and it DOESN'T guarantee superior sound quality, many of Nokia's Express Music handsets can match and are even better sound-wise. No 3.5mm jack, just stupid, I've owned a couple of SE's walkmans and being forced to use an adapter simply ruins the whole experience.

why almost everyone is whining over the 3.5mm jack? there are ways to make those things work in zylo or in any SE phone that has fast,
1. buy a headset with a 3.5mm jack adaptor(like in those old w-series)
2. buy a wireless headset(the one with the aino)
3. fastport with 3.5mm port that doesnt. have wires, when I was in the philippines I saw one and it costs 40pesos thats roughly 1$
4. or buy a nokia 95 and so on blah blah

Nice phone which all-day user can be done in this mid end wlakman phone, but i just curious about the 'bug' which se-phone got!
Its having at all new se phone, which my C510 also encounter...no need to talk about what it causing to ur phone..which will be 'freed' by a couple or three or maybe 5 times of update service, which makes people hate by just bought a new phone.
Does this phone also got this small-little-pain-in-the-ass?
anyway, its a nice phone ...

How do you make a Walkman and leave out the standard 3.5mm jack, ask SE.

I have been using my W980 for 9 month, and the fast port DOESN'T have any problem.. really! If you read the manual book, you will understand how to use the fast port..

Another spectacular fail by SE. Please SE, if it does not have a 3.5mm audio jack do not call it a music phone.
The fastport really sucks a#$$, and is superuncool.

As long as SE still use that conn. more and more customers will reject SE phone. I heard alot of people complain about that connector especialy the when they charging and connecting the headset to their phone. And they said to will not use SE phone any more. I think that's the big reason why SE financial report climb down.
