Samsung Galaxy S vs. Apple iPhone 4 Comments

This is the most biased review I have ever read by Android fanboys. I prefer unbiased reviews. Galaxy S is maybe better in some cases, but come on, display is not as good. You guys should be ashamed of yourself for having such clouded judgement.

I have used both but decided to keep my SGS, both are great phone but the GSG is I think better.
1:The iPhone 4 has better screen resolution and does not very nice
2:Reception I find is a bit patchy
3:Hands down astatically the iPhone 4 looks better but also feels a lot heavier, which can be good or bad I don’t like it too much myself.
4:Size wise the iPhone is every so slightly smaller but is limited with a 3.5” screen.
5:Sound quality is good for music but not great
6: Viewing angles are immense but not practical.
Over all the iPhone 4 is good, the best parts seem over the top, the high rez screen and viewing angles are over the top. More so the screen rez it more pixels which wastes more battery power and high demand on the phones sub systems. If they lowered it slightly then then they could have been able to get better battery life out of the phone.
Apps plenty of them and good but they cost you.
Now the Galaxy S
1: Far superior battery life 2-2.5 days against the iphone 4’s 1-1.5 days
2: Very good reception
3: Very good screen bright enough to look with the sun even baring down on it directly
4: Vibrant colours white white, and black blacks looks awesome.
Movies look truly amazing on this hand set and with a full range of codecs, XVID, DVIX, MK2 and even FLV!!
5: Ok sound quality with music too but sounds much better with the 5.1 DD enabled and would say comes out of the iPhone 4 with it enabled.
6: The best bar none hardware wrapped in cheap plastic, shame really fast processor overclockable to 1.2GHz if you need more power, faster GPU then the iPhone 4 but is let down with the Driod market and until more phones support move to external storage. Games on the Andriod OS are never going to look as good as the iPhone 4 due to limited space.
7: Customisable, a very customisable phone, live wallpapers home screens, but it does not stop there it is hardware customisable too, with options for extended batteries which does increase the thickness but is much better then a dongle sticking out of the bottom.
8: You can replace you batter when the polarisations drop without being charged an obscene amount of money to replace it.
So in summary both are good phones but the patchy reception on the iphone 4 without the band at least and also the Proximity sensor not working on the iphone 4 correctly is somewhat a concern.
To say that the iPhone 4 is better due to more/better applications is BS the first and most important thing of a phone is just that… MAKING/RECIVEING CALLS!!

Imo quake 3 intensive action on the SGS at 60 fps is where it's at since the gpu of the SGS is 3 time more powerful than the iphone's.

forgot to mention the SatNav. Killer app and Apple should buy a satnav company soon or lose out. The argument about Flash will also be embarassing when the Android world is used to Flash on a mobile. The media-apple love in cannot ignore that apple will decline on mobile soon

I bought a Galaxy S on Thursday to replace a 3GS and it's an excellent phone. Only problem was when connecting to a PC. Drivers didnt work first time and there was no help from the phone to select the correct mode but after some googling found the answers.
Apart from that its much better than the iPhone 4 and look forward to Froyo next month. Camera is excellent and i think better colours than iphone 4. Big screen is wonderful, the body shape is better and found all the apps i needed.

the only thing better in iPhone 4 is the number of apps (WITH almost 90,000 + of old, useless and crap apps)

The Samsung i8910 innov8 was a victim of this when the Nokia N96 came out and the Samsung dropped by 3 points in a day and a half.
Continuous 1,1,1 voters make this measure worthless.

The Android market makes 2% of the revenue that the App store makes, big name developers need to make money in order to invest the time and effort to making top quality games, Android doesn't offer that.
Download, backup and return for a refund does not pay developers bills.

alferret, 14 Aug 2010GPS is not faulty SGS, locks on perfectly on my phone and accurate to 16ft. FW JM2.Try the AGPS when you are inside or surrounded by buildings with no satellites in view, all the location services fail because they are so inaccurate.
Check out the user forums in Europe and the US.
Samsung admitted there is a major issue and they are working to push out an update next month.
GSM Arena's biased review conveniently left this out.

So if I think Android is better, and if the Galaxy S costs half as the iPhone 4, I'll take the Galaxy anyday... And yeah, I've tried both OS and Android rocks!

Ios is a boring OS, you cant customize it like android.. both are equally fast, dont pretend kid. graphics wise iphone4 is better? research before making an assumption and pretending to have seen the BEST gpu in a phone that is in SGS.

Why didn't GSM Arena compare the GPS?
Samsung has just announced a patch for the Galaxy's FAULTY GPS.
That's called biased reporting.
