Jason Figge, 06 Oct 2010C is the best and Nokia N8 (no image correction)
B is next best (I'd guess this was the Sony ... moreOops B has colour correction so this will be the Sansung.
C must be the Sony
C is the best and Nokia N8 (no image correction)
B is next best (I'd guess this was the Sony HX5v)
C is worst (I'm giving this to the Samsung Pixon 12 since there's evidence of colour correction / sharpening)
The best pics are the one from the C device (that would be the sony camara) then the pics from the A device (I guess its the samsung) and the the B device (which would be n8). Mark my words.
Anonymous, 06 Oct 20101st A
and my guess is
A = Sony
C = N8
B = Pixonbased on the distortion of lens. (presume use the widest)
sony has 25-250mm lens,10x, which assume the most distorted lens.
samsung has 28-84mm lens,3x
nokia has only 28-56mm lens, 2x, which is less distorted lens.
A is nokia
B is sony
C is samsung
1) indoor light, then the lens will use the maximum apperture.
the bigger sensor and bigger lens(smaller apperture) will generate the sharper centre and corner will out of focus.
2) i can not justify the WB, colour and exposure that photographer were using.
3) lens use the most wide setting
C - A - B
in terms of ISO handling
more grain in C but the details are still there, reduce the size of the pic a little, wont even notice the grains.
great idea!! kudos to GSM arena!!
this is my guess..
and to rank them..
My preference: C>A>B
In basically all of the pictures, B was the worst performer (for me). Colours often appeared too processed compared to the rest and the amount of noise present was also the most. B consistently also failed to capture as much detail as A or C.
I'm pretty sure that B is a cameraphone and I do hope it's not the N8! If it is, then this doesn't bode well for its sales. People will be put off if tomorrow GSMArena reveals that the Pixon12 beat the N8 after all the hype that Nokia's been generating for their latest cameraphone flagship.
The gap between A and C was less obvious. I finally chose C, but I'd say that it only won by a close margin. It wouldn't surprise me if C was the Sony digicam. Heck, it'd better be!
One question: GSMArena, why wasn't the SE Satio included in this shootout? Last year, you guys conducted a shootout between the Satio and the Pixon12. I remember that both of the models were about similar in terms of image quality. Seems to me like a big omission. Did you intentionally leave it out since you were already using a Sony digicam? In that case, I'd much have liked it better if you'd chose a digicam from another brand instead. Anyway, no one's going to accuse you of being pro-Sony if you so happened to use the SE Satio and this Sony digicam.
Shino03, 06 Oct 2010I'm also wondering why Satio is not included in the bunch. I think it's impossible for a camer... moreSamsung Pixon12 already beat SE Satio already in previous camerashot comparison. And Sony Digital Camera is better than Sony Satio. Still the same brand what.
I'm also wondering why Satio is not included in the bunch. I think it's impossible for a cameraphone to beat that kind of lens that the sony digicam posessed. And it will also be better if they had a comparison on complete darkness just to show how good they really are..
C is the top
then comes B
the B-device has low weird dynamic range. fotos are dark and the shadows are black
A device tend to over expose the view a little and thats a digital camera way certaily !
C is the best for exposure and dynamic range ! and i hope its the N8 !
B have lots of noises. C is among the best of them all, A is nearly close with C.
C could probably Sony DC while A could probably N8, B might be Pixon12.
Fanboykiller!!, 05 Oct 2010Firstly, as a lot of others have stated, this blind test was a great idea, props to you gsmare... moreN8 really have bigger sensor than Altek! N8 is 1/1.8 while Altek is 1/2.3!!
Carl Zeiss lens is better than Altek Leo lens!
adam, 06 Oct 2010i'll pick letter b..coz a and c are somewht darkeri agree with you ,especially in the 1st 3 rows, the white color is the best in B images,i wonder why some people are choosing C !!!!!
the more natural color is more important than the zoomed details
