Alui, 07 Oct 2010OK, I give you that. Nokia N8 has the best camera on the smartphone market. But when compared,... morehtc, sonycericson, motorola--- they are nothing without android u stupid ALUI... they just depend on a 3party os....so nokia is still better. very functional fully open source.....
i love it...
craving to buy this phone....
i hope i get it really soon
to all the people saying bad about n8
you judgementals, judge if you can make your OWN ui
you own os. before judging symbian...
[deleted post]OK, I give you that. Nokia N8 has the best camera on the smartphone market. But when compared, not with iPhone 4, but with Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Desire, Samsung Wave, or Nexus One is behind in any aspect, except the camera. So, yes, I agree with you, Nokia rules..... over older Nokia phones.
Roy, 07 Oct 2010All nokia phone has offline working navigating maps. That worth a lot of money since it is a g... morePlease..., stop this BS about offline maps. Offline you cannot find an address properly. Try finding "Laan van Meerdervoort" a very long street in The Hague or "Jean Engling" street in Luxembourg offline. You need to go online to use the satnav properly, so if you are abroad, you pay for data roaming.
My honest advice! Don't trust gsmarena.
I bought N96 based on their review. I still remembered they call that crap phone review "King's new clothes", where they refer N95 as "King". Later I found out that N96 is a real crap, even far lousier than old N95.
And this N8 is definitely slow (from review videos). If you haven't try i ph 4 and galaxy S how fast, dun buy this N8.
I dun wanna hurt anyone. Just my personal experience and I use the phone that I like.
nonsense. I have an N97 and will get an N8 because guess what they aren't the same. I had a marmite sandwich once and didn't like it so i will never buy any sandwiches ever again instead i'll have panninis or bagels!
Seems extreme to lose your job for not answering your phone once. I work in Human Resources and you should have taken your employer to Tribunal as that is unfair dismissal.
hi guys if u had used a nokia n97 before u will never buy an nokia n8 becos i spend my hard earned money on the n97 and i even lost my job. u knw how i lost it. when my boss called me my phone was switched off. actually it was not switched off, the phone had freezed and the display remained on. i thought my phone was perfect and working and only after i touched it i came to knw it was frozen. so to hell with this symbian. android or ios is the future. and if gsm arena praises about the n8, buddy let me tell u, nokia had bribed gsmarena...i swear....just take my word that this nokia will ditch symbian in one year and they will switch over to android....u just see...
Till N8, Nokia lagged 3 years behind Iphone. Now its 2. Samsung/HTC on par with Iphone this year. So while there is improvement no doubt from Nokia, its still way behind.

"There is not a single domain where iPhone outperforms N8"
GSM Arena said:
"We also prepared an impromptu video shootout, replacing the Pixon12 (which only manages D1 footage) with the iPhone 4 (which gives the best video resolution on a mobile phone by some distance). The Sony digicam participates as well. It can do 1080p recordings but was set to 720p for this test. Check out those screens we grabbed from the three videos.
The Nokia N8 doesn't impress as much here. It fails to resolve as much detail as its competitors."
2 quick things.
1st N8 doesn't suffer from C: issue on N97. This was fixed on N97 mini by massively increasing the size and the N8 has loads. Electricpig have been using the N8 solidly for over 3 weeks and have had no issues at all. There is over 170mb available not sue of exact amount but that is what is left after 3 weeks of heavy usage not avoiding the C: like you would have to do on N97'
2nd Symbian 3 uses something like a 3rd less programming than previous symbian meaing making apps is much more appealing. At Nokiaworld in London a lot of high profile developers such as the makers of angry birds we present and are backing Symbian 3. A full version of angry birds is due soon (lite is already on Ovi).
[deleted post]nice point.
finally nokia hits bulls eye
Wheez, 07 Oct 2010As you know, the non-realtime home screen change is intended design, dont know why but id gues... moreYes, you are right. And one must bear in mind that Nokia slides when you lift your finger off the screen, unlike iPhone which does it right away while touching... which is annoying feature in my opinion. I'm glad that Nokia went this way, and am sure that for those who wish an instant reply from the device, there will be updates soon enough.

Sometimes when u view pics its annoying when they move realtime cos thats not always what u wanted to do
wowww....i really luv d N8...gr8 camera..lets hope d said reinforced glass cn protect d lens well..im nt a guy xpectin AWESOME speed on nokia smartphones...im using N-73 frm 3yrs n i understand d limitations of symbian before android in terms of speed...bt i really like d ease n simplicity of multi-tasking without much of a show which symbian does offer..to hope dat symbain can beat android's performance wud b optimism to d pt of foolishness, bt i really really hope atleast d "low memory" issues hav been taken care of to a fair extent on Symbain^3...gud preview gsmarena!...looking forward for a full-fledged review soon...
Anonymous, 07 Oct 2010Its a proven fact by now that 1 of Nokia's biggest problems is software implementation. Why doe... moreN8 slow, huh? Wonder what you are talking about. If the user is slow, it does not make the phone itself slow...
Its a proven fact by now that 1 of Nokia's biggest problems is software implementation. Why doesnt the home screen move under the finger? ul notice a delay b4 it slides across the screen, yet when u are in coverflow as soon as u swipe the albums slide beautiful across without a hint of delay.Gsma mentioned use of a hardware back button would have improved usability,as the software one is not comfortable, being in a diff place at diff parts of the interface. I guess ppl gripes are on the software side of things b4 hardware was what most ppl rushed 4 now they are looking at what software has to offer in terms of smoothness and usability, with a little animation added in.Im not saying symbian 3 is not all that usable infact those accostum to it wont have a problem, new adapters may have if coming frm IOs or Android ,but still Nokia could have been a little more consistent in the user experience with where other Oses are at.Is that so hard to implement? The processor which ppl keep complainin about has nothing to do with the usability, why? The htc aria has a 600MHz and it works just as smooth and fast as any phone with a 1GHz processor, and there's not a dedicated Gpu to assist it as in n8.n8 has a 680MHz processor along with the gpu so it all has to do with how things were implemented on the software side.Hardware wise Il give the phone 100/100, software Il give it 70/100.
