i went to a local cellular outlet where i got ma hands on this "N8"............. to b true,its flash is not that much good as it was in N82.the thing which they claim to b a bombshell,is serioulsy pathetic......and even the txt thing is not as better as in QWERTY keyboards.....wanted to get a bookin of this freak bt now much confused!

seriously gsmarena are making to much hype over this phone, i mean ok it has an kick ass camera but other than that the spec's are just ok, i mean X10,galaxy S,HTC desire all have bigger screens, better processors and a better OS. dont get me wrong i dont mean gsmarena are bias or nokia lovers, its just that there making to much fuss about a phone where there are tons of better ones out there, X10, galaxy S, HTC desire and the list goes on. desire HD makes this phone look silly but you dont see gsmarena making that much fuss about it dont you?

[deleted post]I'm sorry are you seriously claiming that "gsmarena are nokia lovers"????...I support gsmarena when it comes to smartphones/feature phones review they put out they always turn out to be true and unbiased when i actually buy a phone after reading them. I remember gsmarena giving nokia a very hard time when they released the n97 by pointing out how inconsistent the ui was and how many camera features/settings it lacked when compared to other brands like samsung,se,lg at that time,and every nokia touchscreen device that came out was given the same cruel treatment because it was true and someone needed to point that one out. Nokia got it right this time thats why gsmarena are pointing this out, come on gsmarena praised the samsung galaxy's display and said its among one of the best equipped smartphones,they praised the iphone4 retina display,they praised the htc's sense ui does it mean they are htc lovers/iphone/samsung lovers ?. I think they are unbiased reviewers who love a great smartphones and n8 just happens to be among great smartphones.

imac, 07 Oct 2010does ios have a home screen...really ????? i dont call that a home screen by today's standards... moreexactly...iphone is so fake. no multi tasking, just a pretending device. it was revealed that it just reloads its apps so quickly but it doesnt support multi tasking.

Nokia phones have been good in photo ... moredoes ios have a home screen...really ????? i dont call that a home screen by today's standards we need widgets with live updates from social networks/feeds from news websites i'm sorry iphone is just a pile of icons

Wow, I never ever imagine that Nokia can put up a fight in the camera biz . This will be a great replacement phone for my crappy n93 (Undecided yet). One major gripe, why symbian . Still I don't care anyway and it should not impede user enjoyment . Thanks for a well balance and factual report . I will await for three months for some updates and quality issues here and other sites. I am a firm believer that suckers buy first .

[deleted post]theyre just bitter with n8... iphone is nothing without its apps...they should wait untill apps from iphone and android will be ported to symbian courtesy of Qt.....iphone is fake, doesnt have multitasking....symbian has true multi tasking...fake iphone no flash support...copycat getting so much patent infringments....haha

Actually I really like the n8 and I'm considering buying it, the only thing I would like to see is how well would it compare to my satio which I know for sure takes brilliant photos.

It's a shame that Macolytes tend to be so passionate, and yet so ill-informed. Having said that, Apple should be congratulated for making a product that has such a broad appeal.
I said this when I got my N97 Mini: Symbian is the Windows XP of the mobile phone world. A little old-hat and not very flashy, but a solid workhorse that suits the casual and power-user alike.
Symbian^3 seems to continue this trend, and I am looking forward to the full review.
