Gizmodo posted a comment saying they WILL NOT review the fone and took the chance to attack it. Talk about being a HATER. If they don't want to review it they should just be silent and not take pot shots at the product, im done with Gizmodo now.
i have recived my nokia n8 and i think it's owesome handphone that i have ever seen. the camera very good, the sound very good, and i can see cnn, and animal chanel there. and i can download a lot of game and software in ovi for free nice hp.
In 5 megapixel race, Nokia 6700 classic and Sony Ericsson shares the same title for the 'best 5MP camera'. For 12MP camera, no doubt it is the Nokia N8. What about on 8MP camera. Which of the 8MP camera phones are the best? Is it Samsung i8510 INNOV8? Is it Nokia N86 8MP (with latest software)? Is it Samsung S8300 UltraTouch? Is it Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10? Is it Nokia C7?
Help me with thses guys. Thanks!
Found another page worth going through for anyone looking to buy this phone :
the FM Transmitter is an awesome thing. so many pranks one could play with it !!!
about the camera, here is a detailed 8 page review with plenty of samples (just for imaging)
Needless to say, this is the best imaging phone and even for the people who think this phone is no good: the camera , audio and video quality make it a perfect entertainment device.

Anonymous, 19 Oct 2010Its true my Iphone4 just broke cause a minor fell! My N8 just bricked itself on startup!
"Nokia with Symbian OS? No, thanks. I haven't used a Nokia for ages."
Then why are you here, my dear?
This review seems off somehow. Rather un-gsmarena-like. I can't quite put my finger on it. Anyways, regarding the N8, custom firmware should fix most of the problems mentioned. Otherwise, I'd be pretty content with Symbian^3.
[deleted post]Actually haven't gotten a single freeze on N8 yet and the touch is just fine. I'll tell you I've gotten an iPhone to freeze though. Did you actually read the review you are posting to BTW? The interface doesn't lag and works just fine. Some people don't like the menus but I'm fine with them.
Few more since you seem to enjoy them...
-"Meeting on wednesday. Lets do a videocall. Call me 14.00. What you mean to say you can't do regular videocalls that have been standard for several years? Only to other iPhones and only over Wifi? You call that smartphone?"
-"Oh you were in the metro and didn't get my call. Sorry you missed the party, it was great. Have you considered getting a phone with decent speaker volume yet?"
-"We are going to Bangladesh next week. Here is a local sim card for calls. No data though so make sure your navigation has local maps. What do you mean you need to buy them separately? You don't even know where to get local maps? What you can't even change the SIM card? That is it, we will get you a Nokia."
nokia phones are from bad to worst. it's a shame to know only camera in n8 that can be proud of.
let's see 2 months down the road how many would start to say:
- "my phone hangs a lot..."
- "I can't get this or that app like my friends' iphones on the OVI store"
- "How come the video on my friends' iphone4 looks MUCH BETTER than on my N8"
Can't agree more such is the BEST from the COMPANY, but not likely among the competitors.
Regarding all this talk of phone pricing, I thought I shared some research I did. Not all the phones I wanted prices on are released yet in SA so I checked out the UK new phone prices on Amazon UK to get an idea. This is what I found :
Nokia N8 £420
Galaxy S £430
BB Torch £479
HTC HD2 £472
iPhone 4 16Gb £629
And to think the bill of materials for the N8 and the iPhone only differ by a few cents... and iPhone owners wonder why other phone users point and them and snigger under their breath.
Anonymous, 18 Oct 2010i checked official price of n8 in india is 26259 inr which is 379pounds. iphone 4 is probably ... more26259 is mrp price in India and not discounted price. After discount one can purchase n8 around 24k.
Over priced iphone 3gs still cost around 32k approx. Which officially launched in India.
So I see that Allaboutsymbian has posted information that the N8 will get two major firmware updates before the end of 2010! This phone just keeps getting yummier and yummier. No doubt one of those updates will include the expected browser update!
"v11 currently (launch firmware, v12 expected in a few weeks, v20 before end 2010)"
