Marib, 30 Oct 2010I just wish nokia could fit a pdf reader into this phone, then it would be perfect for me.is it... moreS40 phones have PDF Viewer, though it can only view pdf files with maximum file size of 500kb.
Urgh. Nokia have a talent for making phones look and behave worse than before.
Nokia are a dead company.
i cant really find out the reason that why does nokia always have to provide its customers which such stupid pair of earphones...they are worthless as well as useless...why cant they just give earphones like those provided with x3...if that cell can have those earphones why cant this one?...i dont know whats the reason behind this?...somebody should give them a anonymous call or write a letter telling them to stop providing such useless accessories....and raise your standard a little...!!!!
why nokia again releasing s-40 series phone they have no sense i think
I just wish nokia could fit a pdf reader into this phone, then it would be perfect for me.is it technically impossible to develop a pdf reader for s40?

- Native Xvid Playback
- wifi b/g/n
- HSDPA @ 10.2 Mbps
- Quadband 3G
Out of those, the iPhone 4 only has 2, wifi n which is available only through firmware upgrade and quadband 3G. The Galaxy S only has triband 3G and doesn't have USB-on-the-Go or HSDPA @ 10.2 Mbps and the Desire doesn't have any of those features. As a feature phone it compares very well.

I believe that Nokia's market dominance came about because there products had better reception and voice clarity. I believe they still do BUT these traits are unimportant to urban users. Now every major roadway is lines with cellular towers & most modern cities have cellular coverage in excess to 99%.
I do not believe that all users want better graphics. Some want to be able to configure there device to do certain tasks efficiently with minimal interaction. The ability to glance at the device, and respond without needing further eye contact is hard to loose. Fancy graphics and a plethora of games is no replacement for low recurring labour cost.
this is a great phone with great design and great features IF it was release 2-3 years ago. it's still look good today but features us outdated. why buy this when you can get a similar price with bigger touchscreen phone? another reason why nokia is going the way motorola and sony ericsson have gone ... down! samsung will be number one early next year.
How many Nokia reviews are we up to in 2 weeks? 5?
Can we see some other phones being reviewed too?
Once again Nokia came out with a product which customer's don't want. Well this happens because Nokia has stopped listening to its customer base and still living in cocoon.
The UI display with the same old boring icons and graphics will once again fail to stimulate the mind and senses of the users.
Revitalization of Nokia will take some time as they need to shed some more fat "too many matrix organization" and get some fresh infusion of talent.
People say don't under estimate Nokia... well, after losing the business category to BB, multimedia to Apple, OS to Android & Apple, Low end dual sim products to Chinese.... Good luck.
Well they need to straighten their acts and "Wake UP" and start thinking out of Salo or Tampere !! :)
i think the phones that were compared with X3-02 is not comparable. The advantage of X3-02 is that it has physical keys. I think GSMarena should have compared this to those touch screen phones with physical keys.
I think Nokia are getting it wrong.. they are playing their cards on maintaining familiarity of the look n feel, but what people want it change!!... I for one would love to see a totally revamped look (software side), instead of that 2004 type font styles and layouts!!!
Anonymous, 29 Oct 2010I think they made a mistake I hve checked in the nokia website theres no videocall camerathe gsm arena specs does not say that it is video call capable... it does not have a secondary camera..
good review. will consider buying this phone. just thought its a bit pricey..
do you ppl know series 49 doesnt provide multi tasking ?its all not designed for that...programmed that way..just the music player might be an exception to that..so please stop criticizing the fone..
I think they made a mistake
I hve checked in the nokia website theres no videocall camera
the specs in GSM Arena database said that it doesn't have front-facing secondary camera, but the review said it has one.
so which one is the correct one?
IMHO, they should make it more like SE G700.
it's a one of the good sample if you're looking for a nice combination between touchscreen and keypad use.
Always been a fan of simple, thin and sturdy bar form factor for standard telephony purposes. Touch means you don't need a d-pad taking up room, leading to a nicer keyboard and more intuitive web browsing - both big pluses.
Provided the phone stays in the sub-$200 prepaid price range, I reckon this is a good direction for Nokia's midrange lineup.
