I think there is an option to disable wallpaper scrolling. that way, you can keep the picture you want on all home screens, without the need to crop them.

Hey there. I recently got this phone and I couldn't be happier. The screen is huge and rich in colors, the grasp is firm and nice to the hand, and the build is just excellent, not to mention the killer design it's got (but that's more of a personal taste thing).
The phone is a joy to use, I updated to 2.1 the night that I got it, but even the short time I spent under 1.6 it was pleasant. No lags, no reboots whatsoever, apps. opened up almost instantly, Timescape ran smoothly and fast, Mediascape was as nice as a media gallery could be. After the upgrade, things got even better. Five screens to play with, the screen got much, much better (it was fine to begin with) and HD recording is truly there, videos have crisp sound and a huge size with lots of detail.
Then there's the Android market, a true bliss because it will complete those needs and wants you might have left from this incredible device. In my case, I'm a heavy music listener, and Mediascape didn't provide a widget for a homescreen-direct music control, so I found a bunch of players that did, picked my favorite, and that was that. I didn't have to complain and yell about "how crappy the phone is" because I found what *I* wanted. Same went for DivX playback, because *I* wanted it, I found an app. that served me well for that. See? There was no need to come here bashing the phone for not having native DivX support. What would be the point of doing so, if I already got what I wanted?
There's millions of examples in the comments below where people complain just because they can, NOT because they should. Really.
I doubt I have an "out of this world-extraordinary-Xperia special unit". My guess is I have a plain Xperia phone, which never restarts, NEVER heats, and holds charge for a day and a half under very heavy use, so that's how your phone *must* behave. Otherwise you got the bad luck of a bad unit. Exchange it. That's all there is to it. But please stop posting totally useless comments about things the phone isn't meant to be doing anyway, got it?
